Not Luffy as he was in Wano but Nika yes. Oda retconed his story so he could have fun while drawing fights but now we have everybody wanking a god that we never heard of for more than a thousand chapters.

He doesn't even know how to handle Luffy's new df. What is his zoan form? his hybrid? is he physically stronger in zoan form like other zoan or is he an exception? Is his awakening his zoan form? That doesn't make any sense. Why is he always laughing? Kaku has a girafe zoan but you don't see him eating leaves on branches, Lucci is a leopard but he isn't eating raw meat for breakfast.

You asked the wrong question. The right one is: Did Oda make the worst mistake in the manga history by retconing Luffy's df just because he thought Looney Tunes fight was funny?

Last time I loved Luffy's scene was the Rooftop moment in Wano when Luffy ordered Law to save Kinemon. I hope that the speech from Gaban will make a difference.
We already saw the effect of the speech. He will still be Goofy Nika. There is no Luffy anymore, just Nika. I didn't have any hope after Wano's ending but Egghead was the final nail in the coffin.

Which is sad. Luffy wasn't my all time fav shounen protag, but I still enjoyed his moments, even goofy ones (him imitating Sanji and other crewmates on Skypea? Asking random bozos to join the crew? Always had a good laugh). It was well balanced with the serious moments, and Luffy was in top15 characters for sure for me. I also love the "determinator" type of character, I legit loved the fact that Luffy had a lame paramencia but made it work and had such a creative approach to using it.
Nika broke that dynamic, now we have another chosen one who fights in a looney tunes style.

If that is the case.. For the love of Zaza, please, stop reading One Piece
There are other characters I like. I've invested like 20 years of my life to reading OP, and I want to know its secrets. I don't like Nika, and similarly, I am not too excited about Imu, but there is still a lot I want to uncover. Void century reveal! What is One Piece? How OP world is going to change after SHP and their allies will defeat evil WG? What role BB will play? Will SHP disband eventually or will Oda finish on "the adventure continues" note? So many questions.

Not ruining but he’s absolutely becoming one of the weakest aspects of it. Character wise he’s regressed to the point that he’s unrecognizable and combat wise his fighting style has become incredibly messy.

Luckily gaban pointed this character shit out so hopefully Luffy becomes a bit more enjoyable in the future

As long as you don't ruin the fun of everyone else. I don't mind.

But we both know that none of you will be satistied with just enjoying the rest of the journey without doing just that.

:seriously:

People be throwing bs like it is real diamant and then wonder why I come to butt in. No, Luffy never "regressed", kind of the opposite in fact.

I genuinely despise most of the Nika stuff and I’m not particularly interested in Luffy as a character but it’s not like I’m irritated 24/7 whenever he’s on screen.

Overall i’d say he’s far from being one of the things that bother me most about current OP.

Reread Alabasta and tell me this Luffy is more mature than he was back then

So if a characters evolution makes them more naive, childish, and more akin to their chapter 1 selves that’s called character regression…
No, that's called a character evolution. A regression is a moral judgement put on a character evolution.

Now, is Luffy not focused and too unserious, definitely. Does Gear 5 makes Luffy childlish, not, just more extatic and free in within his own ability. Which is why he is not naive, but cocky.

This is called character evolution, because, and you might have missed it, Luffy is not a fixed character without flaws.

Character regression is just when a character regresses to an earlier point in their character arc and loses the growth they already attained. That’s literally what’s happening?

Luffy took the world much more serious after Marineford, because he suffered loss of ace and finally realized how big the world was. However, since Wano he’s been acting more akin to the dumb kid that shanks lost an arm to save.

Oda made it very clear that Luffy as a character regressed by literally having another Roger Pirate point it out and LOSE AN ARM saving Luffy to highlight the point

Like this is textbook regression that may result in Luffy regaining that lost growth but it’s still regression.

I think we are Lacking a certain Tone with Luffy. I wish we could take WCI Luffy’s Tone and apply it to Egghead and Elbaf, imagine how much better the arcs would be .

So we shouldn't share our opinions on a forum created for people to share their opinions because some people disagree with these opinions? We should all say the same thing about Nika?
I still enjoy OP btw but I don't like Nika, so whenever he is on screen, I enjoy it a bit less.

Now I want an honest answer, do you find it funny when Nika turns into a genie or he has his eyes popped out?
