I myself don't really feel that vibe myself, but to each their own. But also, he literally defeated Gaban in one chapter. Like Luffy came in with the big entrance without a Gear...and then lost the next chapter. And then Gaban came in with the big entrance...and lost the next chapter.

Even if the Gaban thing made sense, there's still him randomly being punched away by Hajrudin out of nowhere. And don't even give me that whole shpeel about Hajrudin being able to lift thousands of tons, either, because fucking Montblanc Noland could slightly push a huge landmass to free himself. Nobody's going to say "Erm he pushed thousands of tons tho" if Noland did this.

Imu low-diffed Gaban, like calm tf down 😂😂😂
Wasn’t paying attention the entire chapter, then beat him with one attack. Gaban’s attacks were ultimately negligible, Imu has 0 wounds again. Plus, Imu is nerfed.

Listen, park, I get it. I get that this may be a hard pill to swallow after Loki got so much hype and he looked so big and powerful. With portrayal and feats like that he almost looked like a god tier. But that's why it's important for you to realize that Oda simply doesn't care about consistency anymore. Gaban just did better than Loki and Luffy, that's the reality of it. He hurt Imu multiple times and forced him to powerup after one short clash with him. He did better, man, and that's okay. It just means Oda never cared about powerscaling like we thought he did. It's fine to admit that we were wrong, every person on this planet has been wrong about something after all.

Also, if I may, @Toryu reminded me of a great scene...that was totally ruined when you remembered how vast the difference in power between them was, and that was Tien stalling Cell.

Because Cell was so much stronger then Tien, he probably could kill him with his asscheeks alone.

I would almost say that but Imu is saved only by the fact that he still has a few more tricks up his bag. So I'll be kind to him and say that fresh Imu at full power vs fresh Prime Gaban is a high diff for Imu.

I'd rather have Imu be really strong, but take attacks and keep fighting instead of being totally invincible and reacting things with bored disinterest, truth be told.

Yeah, while it can be annoying to see him get bounced around by certain attacks....Imu being basically invulnerable and owning everyone only to lose via ass pull is worse to me.

I used to read comics and I remember passionately hating teambuster villains like Thanos, Darkseid etc due to this type of writing.

IIRC they'd mop the floor with heavy hitters and finally go down in a really unsatisfying or nonsensical way.

If I'm correct and the Burned Guy is at Lodestar, then really, while the arcs themselves will be long, sure, the actual amount of them are going to be pretty scant.

After all, once they got his Road Poneglyph, nothing is stopping the Straw Hats from sailing to Laugh Tale then. Then after what kicks it off, so begins the war.

So, that's Lodestar, then Laugh Tale....and however the war goes. Really, that's only two arcs between then and Round Two.

I wonder if the curse that was placed on Davy Jones was also placed on Imu somehow? Like Davy was cursed to live at the bottom of the world while Imu at the top?
And they can only leave under very specific circumstances/with a big nerf to their health that slowly eats at them until they die or return to the place they came from?
