It's not that hard to stop saying bad stuff. The R word and many other sanist terms have not been "repurposed" to mean something else. They are still used today by sanist and ableist institutions, people and circle as a weapon to attack people with disabilities or mental afflictions that talk "too loud" if I say.
If you want I can spend a few weeks just to scan the entire political thread to show you just how many time I've been attacked with such words and many other, because I shared having a mental struggle.
You would see not littles jabs like you can see between posters here, but a constant flow of sanism that was so strong that I had to warn the moderation, not just for me, but for others as well.
It's just language, so it is not the same as violences of institutions of course, but it is still a violence. Still something we have to deal with everyday. Still something that is used to belittle our existence and lives constantly.
I've a strong armor. I can't take that. Others, not so much.
When a collective space uses sanist, racist, sexist, ableist language as a weapon, we have to understand that it does not only create toxicity, but exclusion.
