it’s one thing when you are talking about the Middle East vs creating some sort of fantasy where (((Zionists))) are conspiring to flood the west with brown people.
Their point is no to "flood" anything, there point is to capitalize on the existing phenomenon to push far right affects and add weight on it if necessary to destabilize countries that do not align with their agenda.
Also, we are not tazlking specifically about Israel here, but Israel + The US + imperialist peripheries (
and eventually Russia too in a way, as far right propaganda align with their own interest as well). Pretty much all the conservative and imperialist country benefit from the far right moral panic in Europe created by migrants arriving in their country.
Israel is, factually speaking, not actually a fascist nation
It literally is. It's an ethnostate. It's not as complete as Nazi germany, that you could call a full fascist state, but it is one. It's also important to note that "fascism" is just a term we use to describe a specific authoritarian form created by capitalism in crisis.
While the US are in a form of early fascism, Israel is rather in the middle point. We are - in europe - at the very start of the line, although some anti-capitalist consider that we are already in a form of fascism.
Netanyahu is not Hitler, he does not have absolute power and there are literally upcoming elections where a significant opposition is trying to unseat him.
Fascism has multiple forms not just one.
if you spent decades serving in the military/government, and you heard someone was trying to orchestrate a terrorist attack against your country, what would you do?
I would start by trying to understand the geopolitical context behind the terrorist attack. "Terrorism" is not a term recognize universally in international right, the terrorism of one is the resistance of another. So undersntanding from where come the threat and the reason is fundamental to deal with it... or not.
Being anticolonial is understanding that the resistance against oppression is legitimated by international rights. Just like the resistance in France was legitimated in their fight against Nazis, movements of resistance in Gaza and Palestine are legitimate in their resistance - even through violence - against settlers and oppressors. The real question is what tools are used and the level of violence necessary and of course the necessity to avoid war crimes and crimes against humanity. But a resistance is never pretty. It's always a form of survival against the impossible.
So your question is naive to me and shows that you do not understand my position : If I were to be involved in this precise type of opposition (
without my mental and physical afflictions of course) and if the ethical necessity for defense or violence were presented to me... I would definitely not be on the side of the governement and military of my country, rather the opposite. I want to end capitalism, not protect it.
But the inside job theories would essentially require the Israeli government to work as a hive mind—which isn’t how these things work.
No. Just a good planning.
We have to understand that to Palestinians, ALL israelis are SETTLERS, and pretty much ALL adults have taken part in the IDF. Outside of children (
which are also raised and used to oppress Palestinian as we can see today in the west bank). For Palestinians, all adults supporting Israel are directly or not responsible for a form of domination against Palestinians and thus are considered as legitimate targets for the resistance.
Netanyahou knew that by financing armed groups, Israel would give them the tools to do such attack. And the level of pressure put on Palestinians and the resistance was so strong that it is only logical for such a blood bath to have happened. You can't expect your ennemy that you pressured, oppressed, starved and bombed for years to just be full of empathy when they manage to sneak into your territory, especially when said territory is a military one. Israel's gov KNEW that data very well.
And documentations and testimonies seems to point to the data that Israel were made aware of the incoming attacks. Soldiers at the borders were told - if I remember correctly - to stand down. And when the attack happened, Israel used every means necessary to increase the bloodbath, going as far as tankls firing directly into civilians houses to "burn" the attackers. Israel BUTCHERED civilians on october 7th most probably to multiply the effect of the attack and push the idea that Hamas did horrible stuff like raping women and burning babies... which was later debunked.
I don't know if Hamas made a cynical calculation too in risking the lives of the population of Gaza on purpose, probably knowing that Israel would replicate intensely in the hope of creating a last wake up call... And I don't know to what level Netanyahou knew about all of that.
The reality is that this attack gave Israel the very pretext they were waiting for decades to bomb the shit out of Gaza and take over the region.
I’m not going to watch that shit and you probably ought to limit how much of it you see as well. It’s good to know what is happening, but too much of this stuff will fry your brain.
And yet, this is what Palestinian are seeing everyday.
This is Israel being "not that fascist". And know here that we don't have the videos of what Israel does to kidnapped Palestinians, adults and children in their concentration camps. Things are much... MUCH worse. Anyone talking about the situation should bare witness to this horror.
We are not talking about a simple conflict here. We are talking about a genocide enabled by the entire western superpowers of the world. This is an historical event that - in the future - will be regarded as one of our most shamefull moments in history. Wake up.
