Its going to be daijobu.
This is your headcanon about the story. I get that. But I’m just saying maybe we do have more to learn about what happens after Imu is defeated.
It’s headcanon, just like your saying “because Usopp said this Imu will lose here” headcanon.

Just because a character says something doesn’t mean that thing becomes true in OP.

What’s the point of Sommers highlighting that Imus body cannot take being outside the world for long if not to introduce a timer for him to having to retreat?
The point is Oda is highlighting, if time up happens and Imu is forced to teleport back instead of going back on his own will, there will be consequence.

the point is so he has to return so garling can kill him and take over
Garling is Blackbeard's victim
If Blackbeard fails to kill Imu right after Elbaf, the real casualty from Imu's side will be Garling

They’re fighting with the intent of defeating Imu because as long as he’s up their friends in Elbaf are in danger.

If at this point Imu returns to mariejoa do you expect Luffy to just say “Well, I’ll take care of that later”
But here is the thing, he won’t be able to stay on Elbaph for too long.

Yes, I think this arc is to establish a personal reason for Luffy want to go after the WG.

It doesn’t. But Usopp confirming that Luffy is fighting here with the intent to defeat Imu is clear narrative that this fight won’t end with the straw hats escaping like many assumed

We didn’t need confirmation from Usopp that Luffy is intending to defeat Imu here, doesn’t mean it’ll happen lmao.

My headcanon is that they will lose but Imu will have to leave.

Oda definitely has begun rushing the ending of this arc. Ussop randomly appearing out of nowhere to continue his brave warrior arc is a bit lazy and honestly action has been straight up boring.

I hate to admit it, but I don't like how boring G5s combat have been. I was on board with Oda using the awakening to give Luffy free wheeling combat. But SOMEHOW Luffy's fighting style feels way more lazy and uninteresting than when his fruit was just the Gum Gum Fruit. It's ridiculous. He needs to do better than this. I was expecting combat crazier than Luffy's Gear 4 Snakeman Culverins, but I've been let down everytime since lol. Luffy literally peaked at G4.

Does Imu‘s performance in an alleged stronger form inspire you with hope, that he will push them into brink of defeat?
Remember when base Imu was punched by base Luffy only to negg him in his strongest form a chapter later? This is just a rinse and repeat scenario.

Each chapter ends with Imu getting hit by something and then the next chapter he does something.

This is now chapter 2 of Imu being in a new form and the thing is, he hasn‘t done anything offensively.

The Luffy intro moment was just as we always said a narrative hype up moment.

It looks like Loki and Luffy are getting stronger, while Imu is getting weaker rather than becoming more powerful
