I remembered that one, but I figured that technically a naginata is still a sword....but it isn't considered one I guess? IIRC Fan Letter had a whole duscussion and WB was excluded because of this.

It's harder to forge high quality blades as compared to creating a hammer. A hammer is just a chunk of metal, same goes for other blunt force weapons like Kaido's club, which was said by Oda to have no rank but just having become legendary in Kaido's hands. Not to mention blades often get a nature or soul of their own, which is why some blades are so hard to master, because their will needs to be tamed.
