like mihawk, harald and garp all told us conqueror is genetics
idk why people are suprised
This has been a known thing since forever
I also think it’s a little silly that One Piece of all things is critiqued for certain characters having genetic advantages
I’m not a big fan of the concept but this also applies to
almost every shonen ever
In Naruto most of the strong characters are from a clan or have a kekkei genkai
In Bleach Ichigo’s claim to fame is his bloodline (along with some experimentation).
In JJK Gege doesn’t shy away from genetics creating a rift between the good, the great, and the godly. You could never approach the realm of Special Grade, let alone Gojo or Sukuna without being born with a ridiculous amount of CE, a crazy CE trait, or an insane cursed technique (and you really need at least 2 of the 3)
Even in Demon Slayer this isn’t necessarily a rule
but a lot of the strongest characters were born with absurd natural gifts. The strongest pillar was just
born with absurd physical strength and gifts (STW), while the Mist Pillar became one of the strongest slayers in history at 14(?) because he’s descended from the strongest slayer (he had only trained for what… a couple months canonically?)
The strongest character in Demon Slayer history was essentially born to be the strongest. He came out of the womb with the Slayer Mark, See Through World, everything that other slayers worked their entire (short) lives to achieve
My Hero is the same thing as JJK. You’re either born with a good quirk or you’re not and there are
huge gaps between them. You can be born with a top tier quirk like warping, explosions, mastery over ice and fire, etc
or your “power” is that your head is a Stop Sign
The list goes on. Very few anime stray away from genetics creating absurd gaps between characters
If you don’t like it then you’re in the wrong place because Shonen is eugenics central
