Also not really mad at the way Oda's going about Sanji's CoC reveal. It feels very Sanji-esque to me. Mofo is the King of holding himself back :josad:. Plus Sanji's fights usually have some sorta psychological element to them, so it's par for the course tbh. Moreover, we usually don't get proper build up with these CoC awakenings. It's usually something a character just does coz "I'm awesome" lol, so it's nice to have something a bit different from that with an actual story behind it.
Oda never really goes the obvious route with Sanji so personally really looking forward to whatever Sanji's answer to his current predicament is.

I dont have a horse in this race, I dont think Iva has CoC. Iva treated Luffy having CoC as some grandiose thing and proof that hes Dragons son.

The thing about saying it had to be a fight in this case is the clear purpose of saying Magellan won. Even though the sound effect was a cell door closing and there were no signs of a struggle at all. Was there even a fight in the anime, where they pad these things out?

it's not that coc existed that shocked people, it was that luffy a low ranking jobber pirate was using it. if Karma the octopus guy did a basic coc burst people would be shocked too.
