Oda doesn’t give a shit about fighting quality and we’re not getting a real defeat of Imu here, just tossing him out the door.

That's exactly my point. Because Oda doesn't give a shit about quality/pacing, we're going to get a long fight. Look at how long Luffy vs Kaido or Luffy vs Doflamingo dragged on, with constant back-and-forth.
If you're expecting anything less than 5-10 chapters, I think you're kidding yourself. We're going to get long chapters of absolutely nothing, plus cutaways to outside events.

Just look at Wano: Nika was unlocked in 1043/1044, and the fight didn't end until 1050, with basically an entire chapter dedicated just to the final clash.

Also, I think this is the one and only time we'll get Luffy vs. Imu, so Oda is definitely going to milk it. BB will be the one to actually kill Imu down the line.

I love it. And I grew up and live in a place where there's a lot of snow, nothing extreme, but it snows a lot here. Unfortunately I can't enjoy it because of imprisonment.

I believe CoC was always meant to be part of armament haki, but in Marinford Oda decided to split it into a different power.

And Oda definitely changed his mind again during Onigashima. Wano was completely built up as an arc about ACoA, but by the climax, ACoA became basically useless. It just got reduced to the frail little brother of ACoC, which essentially does the exact same thing.
