It such an important lesson for young people to hear. Took me so many years to understand that...

That's why to me, the writing of Sanji has always be so captivating, it capture the worst and the best of what Oda can do and frankly, the best completely outshine the worst in many ways.
In a way, Sanji gets more interesting character development than Luffy.

CoC: Color of Clowns

It is pretty funny that Zoro got conquerors haki in a looney tunes gag and meanwhile Sanji is in an A24 movie having an identity crisis and wrestling with the enormous weight of his self hate and repressed memories the wings of the pirate king everybody. let me stop, zoro slander is not allowed but damn it if sanji isnt the more interesting wing. like idk i feel like oda is really too relaxed on zoro's writing
I firmly believe Sommers and Killingham are warm-ups for Zoro and Sanji to unlock CoC/Adv CoC.

Sanji's fight is definitely more interesting, here, though.

Shamrock and Garling are Zoro and Sanji's real Elbaph fights. Imu's forces that have CoC are legit dangerous. Sommers and Killingham can't keep up because they don't have the Haki.

We still need to see Garling's Youkai form, as well. Hoping it's Fenrir. Wolf/moon motif with his hair looking like a crescent. Since the Kozuki are the Crescent Moon tribe/Half Moon tribe, I could see Garling having some beef with Wano, later, too.

I would not say that. In One Piece, the real wonders of narration are often hidden under layers of already amazing writing.

What some people see with Sanji here, is something that we have been trying to show for years. It has always been there, people like MelonTee for ex have described that layer of subtilities in amazing ways a LONG time ago.

The writing of Luffy is similar, but it won't shine the same way. It will probably always stay hidden as Luffy is not a character who needs to dramatically change and it's a flat character (in the best narrative way possible), Luffy is the one who changes the world, not the other way around (even if it does happen technically)

This is why the subtilities of Luffy are his characterization layers, ethics and philosophy where the subtilities of Sanji are rather his weaknesses and the changes and he needs to undergo.

I get that for a Temple priest this must feels heretic, but yes.
An actual good fight with nice choreography and a great narrative behind, ending with Sanji's greatest power up in the entire manga.
"oh no my favourite sword swallower could have one shotted Sanji opponent and not breaking a sweat. How COOL is my FAVOURITE SWORD SWALLOWER uh? He is so strong and he also add a cool one line after the ending of his fights! That's so cool, and his fights always finish with the same move with my favourite sword swallower always behind his enemy. How COOL is that?!?!?"

:gokulaugh:

From reading the chapter, it doesn't seem like Sanji was "nerfed", rather that he fought recklessly.
It's still bad because I don't think "fighting recklessly" is the most obvious consequence of "no self love", bit of a stretch anyway, but less bad than I thought

I mean Luffy is already "Pure"

Development will ruin him
Eeeh, he'd surely benefit from some though.

Oda kind of made himself a handicap. If I remember correctly, he doesn't want to show too much of a thinking process in Luffy's head, and imo it hurts the storytelling a little. I really liked these past chapters with Zoro and Sanji fights, where we got a glimpse into their heads, what they are thinking about, how they feel.

wait did @AverageBuggyEnjoyer gaped lopi so hard he has trauma now?
My man @AverageBuggyEnjoyer :myman:
This was basically the summary of the last 2 spoiler threads

And not just with Topi, I said fuck it Kekaro and MZ are offline let me jump in....they couldn't check me :myman:
Kekaro and MonsterZoro are offline, so I knew troops were going to be shorthanded. I'm sick so I called off work and isolating in a room separate from my family, and decided to put in work on behalf of the Sanji FC. The sword-diddlers tried to downplay, but I took over the spoiler thread and memed them to oblivion 🫡🫡🫡

Honestly, haven't seen this level of Cope on Worstgen before. Doggo can vouch for me, by the time raws were out I had them so shook they weren't even trying to deny sanji's CoC anymore they were just looking at me like this
