Everyone can justify whatever they want to justify.

But giving more empathy to burnt trash rather than maimed teens is a very low take.

Leftists hate Small Business owners so they don't care, we already seen this in BLM Riots
Is the small business in the room with us ?

Not so many actual small businesses have been looted.

What you see on the video is a "monoprix". Do your research or stick to your hate boner.

Yes, One Piece has always been political

Do you hear yourself? So the solution to elites stealing is to destroy buildings, roads, schools, and loots the evryday man store, take pc parts & jewelry . Is it to destroy and vandalize monuments of past figures of the nation ? They would care more because you burn some nobody's car?
Revolution is not a walk in a flower field or an esthetic.

They don't care. And do not have a reason to. This civil unrest means nothing to them as long as they remain unharmed. It is just a stupid tantrum that will lead to nothing & only hurt the poor and the middle class folk.
The poor are already hurt, the poor are already destroyed.

Now the poor demand a redistribution.

You don't chase a better life with what they are doing and the few that maybe started with the right cause in mind have been inflitrated by human scum or trojan horses.
Actually you do. It's called a change of power balance.

Yes, I have no benefits from my state. If I belonged to a minority and I was a scumbag, that would steal and been to prison multiple times I would have more benefits than I have right now.
Considering I also wasted a year of my life in my mandatory enlistment in the army it gets even worse.
Well.. get angry

There is a reason his buddy Melenchon wants to replace population and has more or less said it indirectly recently .
We only want to replace one kind of population : the fascist kind.

Tf is going on in France.
Hope

Seconded. Tf is happening over there? Saw some videos today and came to check what Logiko and Mathias think on the topic. Neither seem too upset about this it seems, but I haven't read far enough back.
I told you the left was angry here

Well.. Now there are also making fires about it.

:catsure:

Riots are going too far? Are they justified in burning and looting? @Logiko @Mathias @Afroking @Midnight Delight
No they are not going far enough. We should be even more angry.

Sadly, I can't do much. But I trust the youth.

Ok so y'all support burning and looting, noted...

Funny how now Millionaires are being targeted as being "too rich" by these rhetorics after so many years of " we are only going after billionaires"
I don't even understand your sentence. You even mixed billionaires with the poor millionaires somehow...

Ok so y'all support burning and looting, noted...
I support all types of legitimate violences against the capital. I don't fucking care one bit if Sephora or Carrefour (who participated in a genocide and appartheid) and getting stripped to the bones.

Poverty and oppression is not an esthetic, it's not an experience of thoughts. We can't ask for things to change rapidely and be afraid when the legitimate violence gets out of control. Buildings can be rebuilds, lives cannot.

Oppression and destruction have already been the reality of all the working class in the west for some times now.

Now, people are angry and they are damn right to be.

I don't think burning down businesses is a productive way to protest =/= I support the atrocities they're protesting against

Sounds like the thoughts of a man sitting in comfort watching the city burn though his TV screen. What about that poor woman :josad:

I don't think burning down businesses is a productive way to protest =/= I support the atrocities they're protesting against
What's your favorite way to protest ?

You should understand that almost a million person were in the streets. Not even 1% percent of them looted or burnt things.

What poor women ? Nothing happened to her. She is having an exaggerated reaction about a monoprix.

Lootings, anger, riots have been documented to be different forms of revolts. It's a necessity for us in a the current context of radicalism of capitalism and rise of fascism to protect and support all types of revolts, breaking stuff included.

Peacefull protest have their limits. When a gov do not listen to you, despise you and repress you, it's is absolutely fundamental to understand where the interests of the capital lies and what we need to do collectively to prevent the worsening of the situation.

When the looters are gone, the next target of the power is you. Never forget that. These people are what scares the power, they are what creates a power balance in a situation of extrem tension. Yes, sometimes they go a bit too far, but no rebelellions are peacefull or clean.

Yes, you are right, I'm in the confort of my home at the moment. Reason more for me to be the voice of support of those who are targetted by the oppressive system. You need to understand that if a person like me supports them, there are real material and ethical reasons.

And it's not up to me to judge the form of revolt of those who have the courage to put their lives on the line to express their anger

These two takes are literally contradicting each other. If less than 1% of protesters are looting or burning things, then you're arguing that it's a tiny minority that risks delegitimizing the legitimate cause of the protests. But Logiko is arguing that looting and rioting are necessary forms of revolt that should be supported and encouraged.

Y'all can't even agree on whether burning France down is counterproductive to your cause or the necessary first step to dismantling capitalism. Your ancestors are disappointed in you

Why are people blaming migrants for the riots? Haven’t white fr*nch people been doing this for centuries?
This is the tactic of the bourgeoisie to suppress the anger and the way it controls the far right. By blaming immigration, it allows them to control the racism of white working class and divert it from seeking anticapitalism.

Perhaps because Mathias wants to highlight the fact that there has been more than a million protestor this weekend instead of you focusing on the lootings and burnings.

I'm simply telling telling you that rioters are part of that protest. That's all.

What Logiko says kind of represents the tiny minority. Imagine if one fooking million people looted and burned stuff...

I'm not saying that the movement is less legit now btw. But I'd definitely say that the focus the right wing media are giving to a very tiny minority is trying to delegitimate the movement.

Why are people racist ?

I like how you censored the word French as if it was an insult :milaugh:

Which proves my point. It speaks to the lack of a vision or real purpose behind the protests, and actually reinforces Monkey D Theories point as well. Now, all the media will focus on is those kids burning and smashing things, giving the far right the perfect opportunity to trot out their usual “iT’s tHe aFrIcAnS” talking points and discredit the entire movement.

Learn from Fyre Festival, millions of dollars went into a scam that was demolished by a tweet from a kid with 36 followers. The clip of that crying woman is going more viral than any of the legit grievances people have. In 2026, the era of the super intelligence states, you can't just go the anarchy route. The system will eat you up. I just though there was more organization behind it this time around, but unfortunately it seems it'll just pass like every other time.

It is always a risk and that is what they have been doing for years without protest anyways. So no change there.

In 2026, the era of the super intelligence states, you can't just go the anarchy route.
Actually we can. That's quite effective. Rioters made Macron speak for once. To say a bunch of BS as usual, but speak about the revendications nonetheless.

The system will eat you up.
Why do you think people are rioting in the first place?

I just though there was more organization behind it this time around, but unfortunately it seems it'll just pass like every other time.
THe lack of organization in this case is precisely the reason why it was so impactfull. The police was lost, allowing rioters to change the power balance.

It is the impredictability of the revolt that is its strenght (for the moment at least)

Have you even ever been in a protest with one million people ?

And no, not all the media, but the right wing media will keep breast-feeding their audience.

Anyway, you don't seem to understand that the movement is being discredited by right wingers ever since it started. Nothing has changed with yesterday except that it's increasing.

This woman crying for a monoprix isn't changing anything at all. Your argument is kind of childish because it's only based on a video becoming viral. Those who protest aren't gonna stop their march because a few others have looted a fucking monoprix. Or any other shop.

@Logiko @Mathias

Calling my argument childish because I'm referencing a viral video is missing the point. I'm not saying that a small percentage of protesters looting a shop will make a million people abandon the protest. The point is that these incidents give right wing media ammunition to discredit the protests and shift public attention away from what people are actually protesting about. The fact that they've been trying to discredit the movement from the beginning doesn't contradict my argument, It reinforces it. The video is an example of how this style of protest in 2026 is self defeating, even if it's a small percentage, due to the nature of how super intelligence states operate. The protesters continuing to march and the public perception of the movement are two completely different things.

Honestly, my whole point is considering how French philosophers have historically been pioneers in revolutionary thought and tactics (while getting pretty much everything else wrong lol), I was hoping to see a different vision of what they had in store could look like this time around. Something that actually challenges the status quo rather than repeating the same tactics that aren't going to accomplish anything.

Anyway, it is what it is, Macros still gets slapped by his most likely transgender dad who is posing as his wife (or at least that's what Andrew Tate told me)

The point is that these incidents give right wing media ammunition to discredit the protests and shift public attention away from what people are actually protesting about.
There is no attention given to people who protest. Never. Without or with looters and rioters. Protestors are ridiculized, invibilized, despised.

Rioters simply give an excuze to the power to divert attention, they would have done it without or worse... ignored it.

The fact that they've been trying to discredit the movement from the beginning doesn't contradict my argument, It reinforces it.
No it does not. The point we are trying to make is that rioters scares the bourgoisie, it make them shit their pants, EVEN if they use it to divert the attention. Protestors have proven they could make the police back down. This is massive.

This is why it's important.

There are no hundreds of tactics against an oppressive force. Sometimes, you just need to go in.
