Vivi, she was a generic villain and then Oda hit us with the greatest backstory in one piece and one of the greatest across all manga history.

Fuck her now though.

Also Monet, I never would have thought someone who preys on children and has bird feet would be one of my favourite characters. In isolation she's probably one of the most sinister/disgusting characters there is. But her death showed that she's the biggest ride or die of all time.

I wonder if I would like her if she was ugli though.

Well i knew about one piece through tv ads before I started watching and reading as child so i had alot of preconceptions especially early on.
One big one i didnt really like crocodile for example despite initially i think i would not like him but then he grew to be one of my favorites
Of the recent ones i think based on his intro i didnt think i would like Kinemon this much, he is in my top 20 right now i think of all characters

It depends on the way I "don't like" them. I don't like Imu as a person, but as a character of the story I love him.

As a person, there are a lot of characters I don't like (count most marines, gov officials and antagonists)
As characters of One Piece, I just checked the first 200 characters of the WT100 and there is no character that I can say "I don't like them".

I can really only dislike a character I have a particular ethical problem with or a character that would be completely incoherent narratively, and there are almost no characters like that. Some designs are effy (I'm thinking about Masira or the Okamas for ex, but they are good characters .. I'd say I have a reserve on the Seraphims, I don't really like the fact that they are children soldier clones with what seems to a form of feelings without that data being questionned. It makes me unconfortable. It could evolve tho.
