The supreme king haki is ambition, it's the character of a person. His mind snapped, it was all for this. Sanji's character development took him to supreme ambition. It's all connected. You can't train supreme king haki, it depends on the person.

I'm not debating the basis of the PU.

I'm debating this:

It was the right time.

It'd be the "right time" with the proper build up and choreography behind Sanji, or Zoro for that instance, unlocking CoC.
At it happened in Elbaf, the whole ordeal was rushed.
The wings were given each an opponent that couldn't be defeated without CoC. A half-assed flashback was slapped mid-fight to explain their psychological background, and then CoC was miraculously awakened.
