The only reasons fanboys have pushed this agenda is because Zoro has scar, uses swords and is the firstmate but they omit the parts where Rayleigh also has similarities with Sanji.

People should stop comparing Luffy's crew to Roger's!
Luffy is assembling his crew to surpass RHP not Roger pirates and he doesn't have conquerors under him as crewmates just strong common fighters.

The very fact Oda gave Rayleigh to Luffy as Master and had Ray be more linked to Luffy powerlevl wise than Zoro is enough to cancel "Zoro will surpass Rayleigh"

If Oda wanted Zoro to be the next Ray, he'll give him CoC and make him official VC then have Zoro be linked to Ray powerlevel wise,, something Oda hasn't done cause Zoro is surpassing Mihawk not Shanks or Rayleigh.

It's Luffy's job to surpass top conquerors who are all>Mihawk.
Luffy's Master can't be weaker than Zoro's Master same way Luffy's goal can't be below Zoro's goal.

Luffy has Zoro and Sanji who are near equals like how Marco and Jozu/King and Queen are.
It's not like Roger pirates where Ray is clearly above Scopper or Kata is clearly above the SCs or Oden is above WBPs.

EoS Zoro is Top tier above Mihawk but not above Shanks, Rayleigh and Roger.

Zoro is not the next Rayleigh. Zoro is Zoro. And he will carve a legend of his own.

It's rather assumptive of you to say Zoro, or Mihawk for that matter, won't get CoC. That door is still open. And even if it isn't, CoC isn't the be all, end all quality. It is the will of the person. And Zoro has among the strongest wills in the series.

Zoro isn't a "common fighter." Zoro desires to become so strong and recognized, his name will reach the heavens. But this goes for all the Strawhats, who aren't mere recruits. They are a special band of people who will bring the dawn of the world. And yes, surpass the Roger Pirates at the end of it all.

ray isnt linked to luffy pl wise just cause he trained him.
