From roles, Strongman and Ninja seem like mafia ability since they can kill.

Ninja seems like a scum ability yeah.
Idk about strongman, scum can have roleblockers too and or defenses. Actually in most mafia games i've played, scum is more likely to have immunities than town tbh.

I was confused about that too, but I think that's what it means. Any role can be any alignment.

The Role Cop learns what the role of the target is just like it says there. It doesn't learn the alignment, that is the job of the Alignment Cop (or normal Cop). This is how the Role Cop functions in all mafia games.

It just means you learn their role, for knowing their alignment there is alignment cop. Which is kinda like sherrif from Town of Salem, in which he learns if the person he investigates is innocent or guilty.

Yeah, to my understanding every role listed can flip either way. Ergo, we could end up with a scummy escort or whatever. Adds a bit of randomness to the game and it's gonna make everything a real bitch in turns of finding out who's who. The open claim game is gonna require way too much reading.

He didn't ask about the specifics of the ability. NW asked about whether or not any role can be mafia.

Its not a bad thing but the game mechanics are laid bare already, you're saying obvious stuff. Though im gonna doubt a doctor can be scum as i never saw it bar in ToL where they got converted.

I wasn't confused about role cops. I got that figured out when people were talking about flavor invest in the last game. I was confused, and thought you were also, about whether or not every role in the game had an equal chance of being mafia or town. It appears that is the case.

That means we can't town clear people just because their role is usually helpful to town, like Doctor or Cop. It also means that claims are less meaningful, I think.

That's not padding when I asked a role I have never seen. If any role can be mafia claiming would be useless here to know whether that player is mafia or not.

Only alignment cop might be town role only since mafia has no use for knowing player's alignment since mafia know which players are town and mafia.
