I get the impression that specifically Luffy’s journey in finding the One Piece will end in five years, and that there will be quite a bit of story after that, which may be at least 100 chapters. I’m pretty sure the last chapter won’t just be the Straw Hats finding the One Piece.

I don’t like it...but it makes me think that Luffy’s gonna get the credit for defeating Kaido AND Big Mom, catapulting him to the top of the OP world in terms of reputation, and then he’ll just fall ass backwards into finding Laugh Tale before the rest of the series plays out. I don’t know, none of this really adds up well.

He will, but since the beginning Luffy's goal has always been to find the One Piece, so from this point of view this the end of his journey. I mean, maybe Luffy could find the One Piece after the final war and having fought the WG, but that'll be really weird imo, especially judging by Whitebeard words during marineford.

The goal of Luffy and Roger is to be tye freest man in the world. The Pirate King title means to bw the freest man im the world to Luffy.

In order to do that, the World Government must be taken down. So ultimately, Luffy will take out the World Government to be free.
