Whether I like it or not..whether fans would like it or not. Right now I can see tama and yamato are the two characters who had an event which can potentially add them in crew...
1. Meeting ace and asking him to join.
2. Ace refusing and making a promise.
- For tama the promise was pretty mcuh later girl grow up a bit. So a future recruit could be a place.
- With yamato it seems she knew about luffy from ace. And seems like she already had planned to join the crew after meeting ace(assuming ace declined her, though could be just that he couldn't help her at that time since she asked luffy to help her escape).
Both are similar situation. And potentially setup for joining. Leaving tama since she could be cabin girl anyway. I am not sure why Yamato is setup similarly but introduced so late in the arc. Cannot ignore this setup...but nah don't know what oda is doing with her character this late in arc.

I prefer yamato and carrot Over useless kids. Kids like momo and tama are completely useless to the story. They don’t Contribute anything to the story overall. There are pretty much liability and restricts straw hats overall progress that made thus far. If you’re there just there learn then stay the fuck home. We don’t need you. Your country a lot different from Oden’s time. Now Kaido’s defeated your country now open to the world. There would be no reason to sail forward Notorious pirate crew like luffy. I don’t want the straw hats be in situation were they have baby sit and take responsibility for someone else’s children. If you want series relatability children go watch series that has kids as main characters.

I think with Yamato there’s more of a relatability factor with her as a character that we don’t have among the female straw hats


She brings in a distinctive personality that’s very different from the rest of the female straw hats a tomboy tough girl type characters. A character who is actually use to and raise for fighting. What type character Yamato base on could lead to some funny interactions with boys and the girls. Even going against various enemies. That type character something fans would adore and relate to in series

Something equivalent to these

She represents the bad ass shouen female character like Android 18, genkai, biscuit, rindou, risa Hawkeye, erisa scarlett, morgiana, and mikasa
