I don't see anyone from the "Sanji fans" downplaying him, only the one who always downplayed him.

Apparently he felt the strong force of it, same way Coby felt Kyro s was too powerful for him, same way Sanji felt P1 was a bum, same way Sanji could sense Tashigi's tears. Sanji's fast skywalk is also an indication. Doflamingo is forced to block with barrier haki to make it easy for himself, and even then he has a troubled look on his face when he blocks
