Watching right now KoL live stream and I disagree with the way how he don´t like the chapter because of the "offscreen".
To make it clear the way how Oda draw all the last chapters, the offscreen battles, kinda tell us that he want to skip the most parts who doesn´t hold much point into the story, such as Kanjuro(fake death) or Orochi(fake death), fight ala Nami and Usopp vs Ulti/Pageone, the reason why Oda most like skip the battle is just that he already have a idea how this raid gonna end, it complete fails..
The scabbard get their battle against Kaido(with he didn´t show in offscreen), but he skip Jack vs Minks and lot of other stuff and why he do it? Because most fights are meaningless for the story, it would only drag out the manga even more. Oda have clear a idea, the real fight starts in Wano himself, where actually most battle get shown in full lenght and with everything else, with meaning they get a point.
Right now the raid gonna fail, showing every fight with the result gonna end with the lose of every single member of the alliance.
Instance of getting 150chapter for wano we would get 200-250 alone for one arc and that is such too much. So for act 3 Oda only show the most important fights and in the most other fights he skip almost everything and just show the end of the battle(Kanjuro vs Kiku, Orochi plot, Jack vs Minks, Nami+Usopp vs Ulti/Pageone). And you can be sure all other fights who aren´t much important for Oda, he gonna do it too. Only few battle as Scabbard vs Kaido get full lenght battle, but even then the result will be the same, in a disaster for the alliance will coast many people lifes.
With meaning the raid gonna fail, I can understand why Oda skip most battle, imagine showing off all fight who just end in result of lose for the alliance, he would need to make again huge lenght battle later in act2 in the rematch in Wano. And that is waste of time, rather he gonna make it fast to end, the act3 will end in tragic and the hero fight back in act4.
