i really don't see getting trapped by black maria as an L this happened a lot in previous arcs sometimes it turned into W like the case with viola

That trio only need to focus on Kaido. BM won't fall in this arc (and there is no need for it) and there is Marco who is enough to stall her for hours. And BM has even her own plans, maybe Kaido would get a cheap shot, who knows.
The rest of the alliance would deal with all the others. (Jack is supposedly pretty injured btw)

Marco can stall her for hourss? What? Dude she chocked him like a chiken and Just didint finish him because she wants to be where kaido is.

She neg diffed Queen a YC2 like NOTHING and without haki or her DF and with amnesia. Marco wouldnt stand a chance Alone. And the captain trio wont take kaido down at ALL only them. Jack is injured but IS coming back, cant say the same for minks or scabbards.

So then what if X Drake is also putting in more effort, thus being able to keep Apoo in that clash and unable to respond to a second opponent properly ?

Is that not what is shown to us on panel ?

I don't see how this is more speculative than claiming that these circumstances Oda took the time to draw in this exact manner, are actually irrelevant.
