Again .... you don't know how to use context in a situation. If you knew anything about Sanjis fighting style you would know he need both hands to let loose in combat. Holding Luffy is a literal nerf for sanjis combat ability. Niji can be faster than Sanji that's fine and makes sense, but in terms of combat ability Sanji needs both hands. Well I'll base everything off of Whitebeard's crew.
We have:
Luffy - Whitebeard
Zoro - Vista
(I know Vista is not the number 2 but he's their top swordsman able to go against Mihawk and legendar himself as Mihawk said)
Sanji - Marco
(Sanji is not the first mate and actually at Jozu's level)
Jinbe - Ace
Ace is the 2nd Division
Yamato - Jozu
??? - Thatch
(The frame with Ace, shows he was likely a capable fighter)
So normally if I was going down the list by division, Vista would be in slot where Thatch is with Yamato and Marco would be slotted with Zoro and each accordingly from there.
So my guess here is that you'll have the captain and then his 3 strongest (Zoro, Sanji, Jinbe) and then those who are powerhouses but slightly below, and this crew will have two of those as opposed to just Yamato.
I feel like in addition to Yamato (hopefully Yamato joins) that we will get another powerhouse trio. Meaning just 3 members who are extremely powerful. Jinbe and Yamato being the 2 of the 3. Although Jinbe will be the number 3 commander. It definitely won't be a giant though, that would be ridiculous. I personally hope for Hancock but she's too overpowered in her devil fruit.
But with the monster trio, Oda just showed that even with Jinbe that Zoro and Sanji are still number 2 and 3.

And because of some comprehension issues of some of y'all have, you can clearly see that Sanji is standing right in front of Jinbei. Like, you can see from the white outline on the side of Sanji's arm and Luffy's arm which emphasizes that Sanji's in front of Jinbei the same way Luffy is in front of him:
That means:
Sanji is in front of everyone and on Luffy's right side which makes Sanji the right hand man.
Luffy is in front of everyone and is in the middle which makes Luffy the captain.
Zoro is in front of everyone and on Luffy's left side which makes Zoro the left hand man.
But if you guys uses the same logic of "Sanji is not a part of the M3 anymore" then I'm guessing that Luffy, Jinbei and Chopper are the new M3 then.
Second analysis, in chapter 977, people are assuming, yet again, that Luffy, Jinbei and Zoro are the M3 just because they are on the same page. Again, some people can't notice the details because they have comprehension issues like I said earlier.

The red dog next to Sanji represents Luffy because of his red short leather pant even though it's supposed to be reddish maroon dark orange instead of lava red). And guess what?

Does that means Sanji > Luffy, Jinbei and Zoro then?
Since we are now using panels to indicates M3, I'm guessing that Luffy, Sanji and Jinbei are the new M3 then?
Jinbei acknowledges that Luffy and Sanji are the top 2 dogs of the Strawhats
Which means that there's no M3, there's only Monster Duo consist of Luffy and Sanji only.
