Marco can stall Big Mom, it depends what you mean by a LOT, he won't be finishing either of them off, they are Luffy's to overcome. He'll be putting potshots in, taking occasional blocks, having cool moments sure, but not on the level of the fifth emperor himself.

Luffy will be a true PK, not like chicken King Roger. He thinks having someone stronger than himself be around limits his freedom, thus, needs to surpass Yonkou/Admirals.

He obviously won't fight each in a 1v1, but he doesn't need too.

He just beats Sakazuki ( the strongest Marine ever) and Teach ( the strongest pirate ever)
