They have many similarities. Luffy's actions from Water 7 all the way to Marineford is all Xebec. Look at the description Sengoku gave of Xebec and look at Luffy actions between those Arcs. That is pretty much Xebec.
Not only that but Xebec had the charisma to bring monsters together. Luffy has that same charisma.
Xebec looks like Dragon. Luffy is Brazillian in real life. Xebec is based on a real life Pirate called Roche Braziliano meaning Rocks the Brazilian in English.
Luffy dream is the same dream as Roger.
Like I said when chapter 957 came out Luffy has similarities with Roger, Garp Shanks , Whitebeard and Rocks. I was proven right in this chapter. Oda confirmed my sentiments.

Kaido's Attack was clearly very fast that even Luffy with his FS couldn't fully dodge
Which is exactly what happened in their First Fight, Kaido blitzed him & hit him before Luffy could react
That's why Kaido was drawn after him
But in Anime, they failed to show this, there was no blitzing, they portrayed Kaido's Attack as just a Powerful Swing with no Speed in it
This kinda makes me rely on Anime clearing Manga Panels much less

For what I have see, and thanks to better translation the 2 vice captain failed to dmg kaido and yet (he felt the attack because Kaido felt the pain):
Zoro&Killer : The symbol next to Kaido neck imply pain. Kaido felt the hit:

I didint see the same symbol for when the 3 captains used their opening.
I ll say that luffy did more dmg to Kaido when he was emotional connect in the last chapter with the g3 attack. but in this occasion no, I felt Zoro had a better shot than Luffy.
The only thing I can say is people are jump alredy to conclusion after 1 chapter of fighting wich is so illarious, give 10 chapters to see really what each one of the SN in the roof are capable then I ll accept critics.
Right now each fan that are downplaing only the vice captain, are just wrong.
By the way the monster in the title are connected to each one of the individual in this chapter: so the 5SN; 2 Yonkos and the figure behind Luffy!! Cleaver Oda very cleaver

Never trust anime, I learned it in MF when were shown completely filler moments like Mihawk vs Jimbe and similars. People even argue that anime is a valid source
No attack injured Kaido in this chapter, he pulled a "Fukuro" testing the mofos in front of him
Even if they did no real damage they all passed the test
i dont know why people are downplaying only the zoro fanbase after their attacks didn't work (still I doubt he even used hacky, gona wait for the official translation cuz all the katana dont have the coat effects). In any case, any, I repeat any of the attacks from the so called 3 captains works....that is not good, you can put the 3 captain to the same level as the 2 vice captain so onigiri - g4-killer-kid
