Character Discussion "SaNjI bEtRaYeD LuFfY"

Welcome to the House of Hope
The "its something created by Oda" kinda fucks it up for you then?
Oda created a plot where Sanji had no choice.
But you keep insisting in this "he had a choice" thing.
Whats it going to be?
Do we look at the character as a non free willed being, to act accordingly to the desires of an omniscient author, or do we analyze the character's mindset, based on what the author "thinks" should be the best course of action?
The thing about creating a character, is that the author must always think "what would THIS CHARACTER DO?", and not "what do I WANT the character to do?".
GOOD authors do not make their characters do stuff at random. They imagine the values and moral concepts a character has, and try to make him act accordingly to these values he created in the first place.

It´s the author´s job to create the right circumstances in a credible way for it to work.
Oda claiming it is so, but the execution not fitting what he claims, is his failure as a writer, pretty easy concept to understand.

Yep, and what Sanji did did not fit with what he himself went through and stated, hence my point.

Everything else you wrote is missing the point.

Like, I'm not the greatest Sanji fan since after WCI he kinda became a mess of a character and I really HATE the over simping and predator sh*t.

But he DOES have his qualities as a character.

What I don't understand is how some Zoro fans hate on this character to such extent. Whatever personal insecurities you guys have you gotta read the manga and acnowledge stuff for what it is and tone the aggressivity down.

I'm a Zoro fan too but why does, for some people, loving Zoro result in hating on Sanji?

They hate on Sanji because he stole their girlfriends.
