Introduction
With the start of the winter season, AOT has returned to reclaim it's throne, taking over the internet slaughtering the competition, with millions of fans worldwide celebrating it's release.
Each episode produced was spectacular, receiving high praise from the audience; with the way AOT's nigh perfect reception has been dominating the web, you would think it's on a 5 star cruise to be awarded the one piece. Then EPISODE 6 happened!
Episode six of AOT was the most anticipated episode by a mile; hyped up to the heavens by manga readers to break the internet, revolutionizing anime as a medium it's self! Now you would think this episode would receive an Oscar at the rate AOT has been manufacturing consistent stellar episodes.
Whelp, somehow the heavens have flipped the tables upon the fandom, spawning great controversy over such a "legendary" episode. Things have gotten so bad, that even the animators were being harassed by toxic "fans". Now if you're like me; you're wondering what the hell is there to complain about, this episode is amazing! Well join me on my quest to dissect episode 6 in an attempt in discovering what's causing such strange controversy!
CGI
The main culprit of the heated dispute seems to stem from the CGI. The general consensus is that the CGI is fine, some even believe it's some of the best CGI they have ever witnessed. However, a vocal minority is on a mission to scream their hot takes into the wild. An abundance of fans surprisingly find the CGI to be horrid, some even comparing it to berserk 2016, which I find completely bogus btw!
AOT's CGI can be very wonky at times, especially during high action fluid moments. Most notably witnessed during the beast titans scenes. However, most of the CGI is decent for the most part; excluding the beast titan, all have have very cinematic fluid movements. None of their limbs feel stiff during battle, you can feel the intensity of their clashes with buildings and fellow titans.
With the best example being the [lockjow titan]( ); his movements manage to feel fast and intimidating while expressing a fluid presentation. I have yet to be disgusted by any scenes displaying this beast in action!
And people act like attack on titan has never used CGI before. The previous seasons used plenty of CGI; first we have the [colossal titan]( ) or what I like to call him, the CGI titan. Then we have the [Reiss titan]( ttps://imgur.com/WY6S5C7), which is basically a giant pile of CGI trash balled up in a steaming pile of shit!
And let's be honest, these two titans look FAR worse than any CGI titan in Season 4! And if you're likeFeelsGoodMan243, that's all the CGI WIT studious used, slow your horses folks! They used plenty of CGI in the background scenery; especially during [Levi vs kennys squad](
).
Now do I prefer WITs animation over Mappas? HELL YEAH, but Mappa has presented us with plenty of beautiful animation themselves; so let's not act like this adaption has been a disappointment! And if you want to see what bad CGI truly is, take a look at berserk 2016; aka the embodiment of terrible CGI. And if that's not enough for you, Ex-Arm is another new anime airing this season which is debatably WORSE than berserk 2016! If you still believe AOT's CGI is pure trash, then you're delusional.
OTHER CGI
And before all of you be like, "but sun bro you're wrong for comparing AOT CGI to the worst of the worst", there are plenty of other examples I can use to suit your taste.
For example, Spider girl isekai literally has a protagonist that is [constantly in CGI]( ). And it's NOT PRETTY! And she's not the only case, just take a look at the monsters, They are [HIDEOUS](https://imgur.com/v9CJhVB)! If you think AOTs titans look as bad as them, then you have some problems!
Then we have Uresekai Picnic which uses ugly CGI in multiple scenes for the [main characters]( https://imgur.com/h2dRvTY), and they're not even monsters! Now AOT has used cgi for the scouts, but animating flying is way harder than animating walking...
And even TPN S2 starts off with this disgusting [CGI abomination]( https://imgur.com/ra7aAgw). Just look at how disgusting it's movements are, and compare it to a titans.
Now don't get me wrong, I'm not here to shit on these shows, I'm just pointing out how AOTs CGI isn't even that bad in the industry.
THE FANBASE
After reducing all the variables and brainstorming ideas I have concluded that maybe the TRUE source of toxicity stems from the fans themselves! It's ok to dislike something, and you have every right to give criticism. HOWEVER, there is a difference between constructive criticism and hate.
Bashing on the animators, threatening their lives, spewing dumb shit like "YOU DESERVE TO BE FIRED, FUCK YOU BITCH, HOPE YOU SLIP OFF A CLIFF AND DIE" is not constructive criticism, it's pure ignorance!
The right way to give constructive criticism is to explain what you dislike, then give advice on how you would fix the problem. You don't want to be like the cringy neckbeards who rage online all day people.
Were all fans of AOT here, and we all have different opinions on how we view the series. It's what makes us unique, but we need to do better as fans. Start respecting the author and animators that bring us this spectacular piece of fiction; they're humans too, thus sharing the same emotions you do. Imagine how they feel when millions of people crap on their door with unnecessary hate!
It's time to unite as a fandom and do better! So basically the morale of this [story is](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Deg7VrpHbM)
