Yeah Big Mom should have never been in Wano, she should have returned in Elbaf which would have been the logical continuation for her story given all the connections she has with the place and the giants; and the way she was handled and written in Wano was so insane and bad. Oda really showed...
Yes. It was naïve from me, but I had so much hope and strong expectations at the time, and with her being described as one of the monsters of the BMP I was hoping that Oda would do something with her and Smoothie. I couldn't have imagined just how wrong I was and how badly Oda would screw up...

I just couldn't stand that Oden glazing and how he was treated as the most amazing guy everyone loved and worshiped despite having neither the personality nor actions to justify said glaze and worship, and his stupid actions such as this super cringe and dumb dance; and Yamato's extremely cringe...
The only interesting and semi-highlighted relation and dynamic in the Beast Pirates, the relations and interactions between the rest of the crew were so neglected. Wano should have had much less of Frauden and his worshipers and more writing for Kaido and the Beast Pirates.
Jack was one of the worst wasted characters in Wano, the arc which was full of them and of wasted potential.
It's really baffling just how little Oda cared to write the Beast Pirates as a crew, and in terms of powers and to make them look like a threat and to show the dynamics of the crew.
But yeah it's sad that One Piece has lost it spark and become a shell of its former self, I should have known that it was inevitable with its longevity and slow pace and with Oda often recycling things, but seeing the decline of quality and then outright fall during the Yonko saga, and...
Yeah though a part of me was telling me that if WCI could be terrible, then there was no way to be sure that Wano would be better, though early Wano was enough to make me believe in a miracle only for the arc to turn out to be much worse than I could have imagined.
Using the Yonko Saga to try to showcase Oda's talent at writing is not a good idea at all. This saga exposed all of Oda's weaknesses and the issues existing within One Piece.
It was truly in this saga that the magic was definitively lost forever.
The period between Jaya/Skypeia and the CP9 saga with Water Seven and Enies Lobby was the best period of One Piece as an aventure manga for the former and as a story for the latter.
