It doesn't feel good if the antagonists are the underdogs in the story despite them being supposed to be so strong and threatening, and that they are handicaped so much to help the protagonists, which was part of why the Yonko Saga was unbearable.

One thing that also helped killed any sense of tension is that Luffy and the Straw Hats, aside from Saobody, and many other characters never face any negative consequence that are the results of their actions, even despite Luffy's countless reckless and stupid actions which should have brought...

Too many fake deaths and resurrections don't help

The manga went on for too long, became a glorified cash cow, and the magic got lost somewhere. Personally, I'm only moderately interested in seeing how it ends, if only because One Piece used to be something I loved, and I doubt that the ending will be truly satisfying.

It's both amusing and bemusing to see how little impactful and memorable Imu is, even compared to early antagonists such as Arlong or Crocodile (who is still one of the very best antagonists in the manga).

I have long lost any delusion of hope about this story being fixable, sadly. Oda just keeps doubling down on his formula and has no intention of correcting anything wrong with it.

Every arc since the second half of WCI, and my opinion hasn't changed one bit, Lol. No arc post ts comes close to Water Seven in terms of writing, not even close to East Blue or Alabasta.

Tension has died a long time ago in One Piece. It's part of why the Yonko Saga, and especially Wano fell flat so spectacularly. It was supposed to be the summit of epicness for the manga, but the total absence of tension and antagonists being so handicapped while the Straw Hats and their allies...

With how female characters are generally handled in One Piece, I think that it's for the better that Ace was male.

I have asked myself the same question during the second half of WCI, and even more during and since Wano.
