I'm starting to have issues with the plot now. I believe Oda had made Luffy too powerful now that the only way that something would be a threat to him is if that something can't die, or there needs to be a special method to produce damage.
Wait, doesn't Haki bypasses the effect of Devil Fruit in some cases. Hence, it could mean that the right application of Haki could be capable of severing their connection to their immortality.
The succeeding chapters must at least end the argument if the Holy Knights are also immortal. They are not as far as I've observed as in two instances, they've received damages that did not recovered.
Wait the minute, didn't their higher-ups already failed at even subduing a pirate group of giants? Now they're sending lower ranking fellows to actually try to subdue the entire of Elbaph? Really?
I'm guessing now that this Shanks look-alike was the one that ratted the true nature of Luffy's devil fruit to the Five Elders as originally, only Imu knew about it.
Self centered and narcissistic people are also often shallow. So I'm not convinced that a person like Loki who can tell apart the woman he loved from her twin sister would be someone who would kill over his vanity.
