Oden's scar failed to defeat Kaidou who wasn't going all out with an undefended direct attack.
Luffy's horn break seems like it did defeat all out Kaidou despite having to push through a supremely active full force block.

Zoro's trickster sneak attack scar didn't even put Kaidou on his back and was almost as thin as the average zorotard's cock.

Oden vs kaido was written like that on purpose to hide Kaido abilities thus Osa rushed that battle...in fact that's the worse top fight ever.
Oda is wrong for not making kaido and Oden have a top tier fight

The scar can be hidden if you wear a closed shirt or a coat, but the broken horn cannot be hidden, it will be broken for the rest of your life or you will have to tape it like Jack. Kaido will always remember Luffy when he looks at his own face, his identity has been tarnished, he will be uglier than natural thanks to Joyboy Luffy. Morally speaking, the broken horn must be worse for Kaido than the scar, and physically it must have hurt more since the horn is a bone, and Zoro's cut was on the outer skin. The pain of a fracture must be greater than that of a semi-superficial cut that soon heals.

Oden didn't even kill the white boar. Lethality is a meme in OP.
Sledgehammers to the face are incredibly lethal irl, and more lethal to someone in full plate armor (or armament haki) than a sword would be.
No swords or blunt attacks have permanently killed anyone in a serious 1vs1 fight in One Piece between named characters.
