Powers & Abilities Haki is Just Something Oda Made Up By Himself and He Didn't Get Ideas From Anything

#1
Title

Let's just confirm to each other that Haki is a completely made-up system, and there is no basis for it at all- and it is impossible for there to be an explanation for it.

For example, it is impossible that Willpower is the same thing as Soulpower.

Even if Willpower being Soulpower explained how Haki works- Oda never said it is connected, and anyone who thinks Willpower is Soulpower is reading the story wrong.

Haki is NOT subtle energy; not qi, not chi, not prana, not chakra, not shakti, not anything. It is its own unique type of energy that is related to Willpower ONLY.

Will. The Will of a Person.

Not

Soul. The Soul of a Person.

Two completely different things that could never possibly be linked.

It is an option that we are eliminating from the possible conclusions we could ever draw about Haki.

It is NOT a spiritual energy. It is just energy.

It is NOT a soul energy. It is just energy.

It is Willpower. No soul energy. Not spiritual energy.

This helps the story because- *cough*- if the story does not include any kind of religious or spiritual elements it is better. Willpower is cool precisely because it is not magical like spiritual energy is. Willpower not being spiritual energy means that it is a man getting just Ws with his own power. That's what this entire story is about- getting Ws. So, it doesn't make sense for religious or spiritual elements to be involved because if Luffy gets Ws with spirit power then that's just dumb, but if he gets Ws with just his manpower/willpower of being a man then that makes it cool and smart.

Let us just confirm this with each other and never mention souls again.

And I'll even challenge the idea that Willpower by itself without any other system added to it like a Soul Energy system... Doesn't really mean anything.

If someone picks up a 5 ton object... Through sheer Willpower... It means they have a Powerful Soul.
Willpower is essentially spiritual energy, so when you compare a will with a soul... It's the same thing.

I'm not Hindu, so forgive me if I accidentally bastardize someone's belief system.

But from what I've researched, Shakti is the energy of the cosmos in Hinduism and especially Yoga.

Like Haki, there are 3 forms.
Iccha (Willpower and Desire),
Kriya(Knowledge and Power to Know),
and Jnana (Action and Physical Ability.)
Sound familiar?

But in Shakti the three types work in tandem and with each other. Like From wiki
" Iccha Shakti is the natural human impulse to create. Kriya shakti is the ability to act, manifest, and create. Jnana shakti is enlightenment."
There's also apparently two possible special forms?
-Kundalini Shakti, the base of the spine and 'coiled serpent.'
-Para-Shakti ""The Shakti working on a cosmic level: the light generated by the sun, the rotation of the planets, heat and other forms of gross energy.""

Much like Haki.

What?? You're crazy... that's crazy~

Sanji's swirly eyebrow and the swirl on Devil Fruits are NOT related to the way a tsunami is created or the rotation of the sun- even if Oda kind of implied it is.... it's just not. Well, okay, he flat out stated it is, even if he did that doesn't really mean anything, you know?

See? Did Oda say the universe has cosmic energy and Sanji's eyebrow channels that energy? NO

He said it channels the power of circles!

It might be possible to channel the power of triangles, and squares. That's what this tells me.

It certainly does not tell me that there are cosmic forces at work. Circles!

Gets even better when you think about how Sanji got hit in the base of his spine in Drum, later created DJ. Had that same injury shocked by Niji, and shortly after awakened his genes.
Post automatically merged:

Or that the Kundalini is represented by a spiral.

Chi/Ki and Haki are very similar, almost same. He took examples from many series.

- Hokuto no Ken, Oda said he was fan of this series. There is an energy concept like Toki in this series which is very similar to Haki.

- Dragon Ball, Oda also said he was fan of this series as well, where Chi/Ki concept also exists.

- Rurouni Kenshin, Oda worked on this series as an assistant. There is a Ki concept in this series.

- Street Fighter, Shiryu is based on Mr.Bison/Vega character, so clearly he is also inspired from this series as well where Chi energy concept is also similar to Haki in One Piece.
