Speculations Oda, shounen and the most boring plots ever.

#1
Talking about current events.. so egg head island.
Things that could have happened:
A fight for domain or technology. Luffy estsblishing that he can compete with a the marines to control an island.

What we got: Kuma torture porn, a food machine, an assasination plot where the smartest man is standing in the open yelling at the people trying to kill him.

I say this to say in the japanese culture shounen seems to not give people the plot and events we want.

Hitman reborn:
What we wanted: a punk kid that has no confidence turms into a suave confident mom boss who is noble at the same time

What we got: friendship magic and constantly being a pussy.

We can say the same for most shounen.

Naruto started off good. Tatical fights with plot development as a group of young boys are teying to get stronger to be accomplished young men.

What I wanted. Naruto to learn new jutsu maybe use stealth and chakra knives to slowly get stronger and make changes around the world as a great leader.

What i got... something that comes off a little gsy and narcassitic based in gods and rebirth and a complete destruction of founding principles.

All i wanted from hokage Naruto was to see a scene where he throws on his robe summouns a meeting and says the hyuuga will no longer be cursed sealed. I thought i would get that one day but no. The entire plot im seeing is boruto is a cheater and doesnt appreciwte shit and his daughter koed him in the nuts. Plus he had iruka, neji jiriya that were major parts of his life that he coukd have named his chikd after but instead we get boruto with the worst haircut in anime history.

Yyh and older shounen are different. With alot of anime we get really repetitive episodes that mirror zmerican style television where they follow a template and advancementd never happen. Its been 30 years and ippo never kissed the girl. Ranma1/2 instopped watching because it seemed repetitive. A couple of shows broke this staus qoue like yyh. Yusuke was constantly evolving his character while still staying true to his base. I think him going to demon world is one of the most adventures arcs in shounen history even though it was rushed to death.

Psyren is a good example of a plot that had a good pace and well thoughtout story. And it's not just about pandering to the audience cause i under stand mangka want to tell their own unique stories. Though I do think that artist should stay true to the world they're portraying.

Which brings us to baki the grappler which i dont think is a shounen by any means but they perfectly describe the amount of basterdization of themes. While i like the outlandish silliness of the extreme fights take for a minute to consider the history of fighting.

Minus the importsnce of artillery theres alot of black people. Like the zulu literally fight rifles with sheilds and spears. The MMA at any given years can have almost completly black champions and that goes for boxing as well. So for shows like Baki and hajime no ippo to have ao few chaeacters that stand at the top of the world is just sad all im saying.

It really takes away from the magnitude anime and manga could show. Pressing on lets twlk about the poor decisions anime characters make. I get it kids dont really care about advancement and keeping a tidy believable plot but for instsnce lets put Luffy in the spotlight. When he said he didnt want ti be a great man your completely destrpying the theme of a pirate. Pirates take to the seas for fame, fortune, power and treasure. That literally the start of the series. Being great and powerful is more than just ruling over people it's putting yourself up against nature and circumstance and growing to be magnanimous. Luffy just liking to fight eat meat and not really enjoy liqour.. he probably should have just been Shank's chore boy.keeping usopp as the weakest so regular people can relate to him is dumb. I mean what about the people that feel they would thrive if thrown into the one piece world.

I dont understand why shounen mangka make such boring and tastless choices or why the new generation accepts such garbage.i guess as a kid who has no power you can relate to a person who just wants to do the things your allowed to do. Play with friends eat food and be free from the hardships thst come with advancement but i was different as a kid.

Sure when i was very young i couod relste to more mature themes and was fine with tidy plot thst follow homers adventure. Basically a young man trying to surpass his father. Though atleast by the age of 8 i like to see the hero challenge all odds and become the man he was destined to be. Something more align with reality imo. Even the character whobfound power and realized they wanted peace and family were enough to invest me into third season or two.

I guess its more based on feelings. Thst was madaras plot. He was really hurt feelings wise and wanted to put the world into a dream. I feel even if i was a young kid the age of 10 that type of plot would still irk me. Conquer the planet, rule it and try to prove you are better than hashirama. Dont get caught in your emotions and give up. To me that's why orochimarubis the best villian in Naruto. His goal was to live forever and study all the jutsu becoming a master. In the end kishi made him a hype tool for itachi and ive made threads on how I feel about itachi.

To prattle on more look at luffy's apperance. In the begining he looked kinda homless. Not really ugly his ears were on his neck but he was rocking the best 6 pack in anime and his dark rounded eyes showed a man that while peaceful had no problems using violence when it called for it. This was made even better during his second flashback which was the end of good one piece. Luffy was basically a fiesty kid with a good deposition thrusted into a dangerous mountsing surrounded by the worst ghetto ive ever seen. He witnessed events so grim that only becaus eof his focus, ambition and the hrotherhood he had with his childhood brothers that he developed a character.

That's really the core of what im saying the the demasculation of men around the world put into anime format. After the timeskip oda slowly but surely took the man out of Luffy. The frilly shirt which honest played off of his tough character was followed by oda rounding his face a shortned his features.then one piece mkvies became fashion shows, luffy became less magnanimous and less pragmatic. Sanji no longer suave and usopp no longer brave. Zoro became less realistic and kind of stereotypically stoic in a way you might see a woman write a fantasy man.

I mean the man was going to cut open his stomach for a crime he didnt do and didnt becaus he smelled blood. The zorotards might think thats dope but they're basically girls anyway.

Long gone are the days where rurouni kenshin would come on snd I would do pushups in front of the tv because these men inspired me to be strong. I remember putting weights in my dads old aemy bag and wearing it around like weighted clothes because thats what goku did. I would take the couch cushiojs and punch them in a barrage like yusuke did demon's faces.

That is gone from anime the same way martial art movies are gone from hollywood. Rurouni kenshin was my favorite anime to work oht to because even though he was a soft kind man when he got serious he turned into a monster challenging the stereotype of what a man could be.

I dont watch current animes but even if you couod say that shows like mha would inspire the youth i find it conspicous that the main charcter looks like a dyke and actd like one to.

Both statements are true and the second is an explanation of the first.

Naruto started off good. Tatical fights
MY PAIN IS FAR GREATER THAN YOURS GALACTICAL OVERDRIVE SUPER NOVA KONOHA ANNIHILATOR ATTACK GALORE NO CHAKRA REQUIRED SPAM REEEEEEE
yata, we captured the nine tails

Eugenics is reality. Eugenics is applied evolution.
Manga mirrors real world.
Eugenics wins.
Born a god, fight like a god, become a god. Simple as.
Dislike it? Wrong genre, lad.

Boruto's name is a reference to Neji. You see, Neji means "screw"(the metal kind.) And Boruto's name is just a romaji version of "Bolt"(again, as in the metal kind. You can even see one in the Boruto logo) Just a Boruto fun fact for you

I already knew that but just call him neji. Boruto is an objectively bad name. Like sarada for salad?

Rewatching Avatar the Last Airbender, and yh the quality in comparison to current OP is astounding. Like its so much more enjoyable its crazy.

- Aang doesnt steal the spotlight like Luffy, and actually feels like a human like character
- Characters are fleshed out, consistent, inspiring and likeable
- Plotlines are interesting and thrilling

Like I first watched this shit when I was 11 and I really didnt think much of it. Probably cause I was a kid who didnt understand how well the story was written but also because I wasnt constantly let down by stories such as OP. OP along with MHA, JJK, etc are all abysmally bad but we all let them off because theyre popular manga. People will carry on reading the garbage that is being put out so it doesnt matter anyways.
