I dont remember Kaido hitting base Luffy with a no name ACoC attack and Luffy coming out unscathed. Luffy has been hit by ACoC a lot by Kaido so he should be able to quickly recognise Gaban having ACoC and getting serious after that attack but he still remains in base and tries to get the key. Only after the named slashing attack he gets serious.

Zoro's only using CoA btw. Gaban's hype is entirely based on going hard against base Luffy that was playing tag and giving up after trying to kill him.

The writing geniuses of Worstgen would rather prefer Luffy still getting bitched by whoever this far into the story, going by the pages upon pages of slander
