Think it's plausible that, like all old legends so far, he will:
A. Kick a decent amount of ass and hold his own/briefly look good against the enemy team's strongest fighter
B. Get nerfed by being backstabbed/snuck up on/outnumbered/turned into a newt by a passing witch etc
C. Fight with injuries for a bit before being defeated in a way that makes him look like a badass.
90% chance is that whoever his "main" fight is will be called a fraud by the fanbase as a result.
I think it's possible Scamrock might come back to finish Gaban off, so it's likely him if I'm right. If not, I guess it's Sommers.
He will not be used as hype device because that would mean that he will lose to HKs in a fair and square way.
Instead, he will be done dirty, due to Colon as hostage or whatever.
I seriously doubt Oda would make a legend on par with Roger lose to these HKs present on Elbaph.
If Shamrock was still there, it would have been plausible but without him, very unlikely.
It obviously won't be Fair, but Gaban is going down indeed,
This was Confirmed the Moment He showcased his Signature Attack,
Just like it happened before with Garp, Big Mom, Oden, Neptune, Chinjao, Hyogoro, Streusen ... etc
About the knights, they have more characterization than Egghead's VCs, so Oda will lose a little more time with them, on the other hand you don’t see an opponent for Luffy and Zoro in the trio, while Sanji hardly gets a serious fight when there are so few enemies in the arc, so I don't know how much hype Oda will really put on characters that won't be defeated by anyone strong. Like these guys aren't even the Shiryu equivalent, they're like Devon and Vasco Shot.
To be honest I don't have faith in them, they will be easily handled. I also don't see Shamrock coming back that early, otherwise he wouldn't have even left.
