Just think about it. most of the old legends never bothered to have kids except Roger and Garp, and they all lived fine thanks to that.

Rayleigh?
Sengoku?

All single.

But when you decide to have a kid as a wanted pirate, and not even bother to hide his identity, then you’re just asking for him to be used as a hostage against you.

Whitebeard took Ace as his son, and he died because of that.

Colon so far had ZERO plot relevance or narrative impact on the story besides “oh wow look he’s the child of Gaban” and that’s it.

Oda is clearly gonna use him as a plot tool to hinder his father (who’s already older and weaker anyway).

All so he could keep the fake tension and stakes with the Holy Knights going. Otherwise, those Hax regen merchants should be getting low diffed one by one vs a top tier.

tl;dr: Gaban is getting hostage diffed soon

Whitebeard the biggest father figure in the series and Roger's rival died to save his own figurative son and also his favourite one, who was Roger's only (as far as we know) child.

Oden almost died to Momo being taken hostage and I think Tom took the blame for what happened to Franky and how the WG explicitly framed them and Iceberg I think too?

Also kinda similar to how he said mothers are the "death of" or opposite of adventure too. Big Mom and her crew were the ultimate example of that too.

No wonder Yassopp refuses to be a father, he's too scared of getting killed off. Plus Usopps mother died too ofc, not that he would even know never mind be there for her.

I completely agree too. Oda loves reusing these plotlines and Scopper is similar to Whitebeard and Oden and dare I say a far better man than Rayleigh, but at least Rayleigh saved Boa too, so he's redeemed somewhat too at least.

I'll never forgive Rayleigh for not trying to help save Ace, especially when he was so near to Marineford and could get there easily and quickly.
The only Roger pirate who showed up and tried to save him was Buggy lmao. Meanwhile Crocode, Ace, Ivankov etc are risking their own lives to save Ace. (Crodcodile blocked Ace being executed at the last second AND bifurcated Akainu like a BOSS, a mafia boss even! Crocogoat!)

Shanks "conveniently" showed up too but too late to "help", which I've always found suspicious but that's a whole other man of worms t discuss elsewhere, especially with Shamrock, the Gorosei, Garling and the Figarlands and Kaido to consider now too.

Also completely agree with this. Just have the holy knights be nerfed enough for the other SHs to fight and beat.

Brook still hasn't had a single all out fight that he's also won since he first joined! Even Robin is far less neglected!

Chopper and Usopp are extremely overdue long, serious, all out fights too, they had such a cool team up fight in Ara-arabasta vs the 2 baroque works agents too

But Oda doesn't want to draw fights past 1 chapter now long too so Toei will have to compensate as per usual now too.

Colon is inspired by Vicky the Viking which was one of the favourite animations Oda enjoyed as a kid and inspired OP, It's obvious that he's there to be an hostage, but I still have hope for him not to be just that. He's not as coward as Momo, cares for the rest of the kids, and want to be a pirate like his father

The same Momo who stood up to Kaido and the others and almost got executed for it? The same Momo who went up and bit Kaido and dragged Onigashima as much as he could away from the capital? The same Momo who went up and fought Green Bull, an Admiral? Despite how clearly out of his league he was, despite having a fully grown version of Kaido's fruit and an adult body now?

That is cowardice? I...uh....I'm actually speechless here. I can't reason with this at all.

He's 8 years old too. He doesn't even have the bonus of being giant sized and thus enhanced strength like Colon has compared to humans, Momo is just an ordinary kid and doesn't have his fathers freakish Herculean strength and overconfidence too. He's been struggling to live in the legacy of such an immense legend, Ace had that problem too and so do others.

Its not like his parents were brutally murdered or anything right too? His father was BOILED to death in oil and killed by 2 extremely oppressive and unstoppable tyrants who have ruled over the country for 20 years without any remote chance of being stopped and taken down, after killing his parents?

The CHILD was TRAUMATISED and we saw evidence of that when he first appeared and how he behaved and had that actual traumatic flashback to Kaido taunting him.

This "coward" went face to face with the STRONGEST threat in the current story so far and literal biggest by far and stared him in the face, despite how terrified he was:



This was after he bit him on Luffy's insistence and thus provoking and challenging Kaido directly and going on a suicide mission here. It was a damn near miracle that Kaido hasn't killed him up to this point.

He also saw Kaido "KILL" his adoptive father who has been lovingly taking care of him this whole time, since they fled to the future to escape Orochi and Kaido in the first place.











Even Kaido was shocked and grimaced by Momo's audacity, his BRAVERY here! A "coward" would never have PROUDLY and LOUDLY declared his own name and OPENLY TAUNTED Kaido and Orochi and all the Beast Pirates, enemy Samurai and whoever else like this, knowing they would LITERALLY KILL him for being Oden's son and disrespecting them like this, yet he still revealed himself, even though Kaido's own men said he should lie to protect himself!

If you guys genuinely think this is "cowardice" then I'm sorry, but you have something seriously wrong with you. No joke. Or and you genuinely don't understand the story or read it properly or and you don't know what actual bravery is. Fuck me.

I didn't want to reply as I knew I'd get pissed off, but I think it needs to be said. I'm so tired of such direspectful, ignortant Momo slander by delusional, overcompensating, faux macho keyboard warriors here.

Once again I will emphasise Momo is a CHILD, a mere CHILD! 8 years old! Deeply traumatised! The trauma is fresh as his wounds right now! Including Kanjuro beating him up to a pulp and him being put into a similar position of being crucified here too!

JFC guys. Sorry but I have to get it off my chest, Momo slander pisses me off too much too. "Real cowards" make fun of him and children in general, especially children getting literally tortured, beaten up, almost murdered and abused in general.
