Speculations 20 Chapters In: We Still Haven’t Met The Main Villain Of Elbaf Or Luffy’s Fight

Who is the main antagonist of Elbaf?

It’s starting to become obvious to me. I don’t see Loki or any of the HK on Elbaf being the main antagonist or fight of the arc.

Katakuri wasn’t introduced until 40 chapters into WCI, I feel like we’re in a similar position now on Elbaf.

Loki could potentially be powerful enough but I don’t really get antagonistic vibes from him and by himself I don’t think he could be a main arc threat.

What are people’s thoughts on this?

The real villain is in Heaven Realm imo. Oda is hiding it for a reason. Loki isn't a villain at least currently, Odas already showing otherwise.

Hell, i like the theory he attacked the tree to alert all of Elbaf to what the holy knights were doing, by getting them to discover it by fighting the firey disaster. Loki is being very performative like a certain 2 edgy, tsundere supernova captains I love.

We've yet to see giants with DFs properly especially in a fight too. I'm not convinced Harald is dead yet either.

I think the actual jorgumandr could appear in some capacity as it should too.

I also hope for Kaido and Big Mom to return but that's extremely vain copes I know. I still believe though.

We don't know who put the mark in the castle to let Shamrock and Gunko teleport in. Harald was killed like 14 years ago right?

I think the most obvious conclusion someone unknown put the mark there, probably a Kanjuro of the giants, an inevitable traitor.

Carmel was doing her trafficking whilst Harald was ruling BTW. Did be know? Or worse, support it?

Ja Rule (where is Ja) is very suspicious to me. I don't believe his story and why does he have Haralds sword in his head? How's he alive with the sword in his head? The helmet is blocking it?
When Usopp slapped it, it seemed like a throwaway, random gag moment but imo Usopp subconsciously knows that Jarul most be lying without knowing himself consciously.
Usopp is the biggest worshipper of giants and Elbaf and the biggest liar in the series by far. He knows all about trickery, false truths, facades and a lot of people are more honest when drunk by far as their inhibitions are released.

I might be overthinking all of this but I am certain like Oda has done many times before and still does recently like with York, there will be a traitor, there will be a damsel in distress, there will be major plot twists and reveals that shake up the whole arc and it's trajectory, it's focus.

I was even thinking Urouge might be in the heaven realm earlier but that's a different topic and I need to confirm something before I talk more about that too.

We've had 5 Gorosei on Egghead before this. How can oda escalate this? Imu? Xebec? The whole BBP? unlikely AF ofc. A Tot Musica style giant unstoppable demon? Too similar to the Gorosei.

We need to see truly strong, competent, dangerous giants with DFs.

There's bound to be an anti Harald, conservative/traditionalist/race purist, anti pacifism faction of extremely strong, bloodthirsty, battle hardened giants still.

Elbaf was known for endless wars and Dorry and Broggy even fought for a century. Isn't that how long Harald ruled more or less right?

The giants who the entire world heard, were called the strongest race/warriors/military/country whatever? The ones who like actual vikings went out and raided and pillaged? Started and escalated wars? For fun and glory too?

We had the warning from that Louis Arnote or whatever his name was to not stay in elbaf too long. Why?

Shamrock, Garling, Akainu or even multiple Admirals could have been the villains here. We got 4 holy knights and their commander, the evil twin of Shanks just left after cowardly brutalising a helpless, weakened loki lol.

I really hope the villain is an extremely strong, maybe even intelligent and not goofy giant, a real warrior leader type with a powerful fruit and thus the one to truly redeem giants reputations once and for all.

Idk otherwise lol.

Hmmm...

Jarul deeply values militarism, as shown when he reminded the young giants on Elbaph that they were warriors above all else. While dedicated to militarism, Jarul is very open-minded as he readily accepted Carmel's claimed ideology in pacifism to engage in commerce instead of plundering. He strongly cherished camaraderie and beliefs, as he mourned the death of his lifelong comrade, Jorul, and noted that had he died a warrior's death, it would have been acceptable, hence could not forgive Charlotte Linlin for killing Jorul in a disgraceful manner. His strong respect for Carmel, however, led him to reluctantly spare the little girl's life and allowed them to leave.[8]

Jarul says he prefers an older woman.[9]

I stand by it, it's Garling
There is a strong Shanks connection this arc.

Loki, Shamrock, Elbaf being the Nirse island with Shanks as Tyr...perhaps Garling will have the Fenrir fruit.

Jarul is indeed suspicious. Might be that he was in cahoots with BM. If Kidd shows up this arc he might try for a revenge.

Also, there was a giant in Norse myth named Hrungnir, a powerful giant who drunkenly challenged Thor. When Thor defeated him, the whetstone he wielded as a weapon shattered and a shard was permamently impaled onto Thor's head.

That's the closest I can think of in Norse myths to Jarul.

No one really. Shanks shows up and argues with Luffy a bit, then Blackbeard arrives. Luffy will trust in Shanks and set sail to fight Sakazuki. The fight against the Fleetadmiral will be his next real tense fight, but it will happen on New Marineford, not on Elbaf.

It’s Shamrock

Oda had him leave because he’d be too strong if he stayed.

Mid hats got low diffed by Gunko. If Shamrock was around, somebody would probably end up dead.
Post automatically merged:

Shamrock will probably return once Gaban defeats the other HKs

I don’t think Loki is a big enough threat
Legendary fruit.
Made Yggdrasil shake even when completely chained in seastone.
Great presence.
Ancient giant.
Special Weapon.
Power said to be the worst for Erbaf.
In his first casual showing, he brought on Erbaf a ligthning as big as an Island.

Etc.

We had arc with far, far less worthy opponents.

And a lower bounty than Kidd and Law.

Which yes, matters.
