Controversial RIP Zoro Agenda 1999 - 2025

How much entertainment did the Zoro agenda give you, while it lasted?

Well, we're told Gaban, Rayleigh, and Roger are equals. So unless the community is ready to accept Luffy=Zoro=Sanji, the agenda still floats strong. Besides this chapter shows us how different they are in practice:

Saving a guy at a point blank range from the world's fastest man without him even noticing vs. Getting dodged easily and letting your son be a hostage

Waban is G but he's no Rayleigh, period.
You're equating 2 totally different situations though

Gunko knew Gaban was there (technically his own fault for speaking before actually attacking her)

Kizaru had no idea Rayleigh was coming

That would've been the case if I complained about Gaban failing to attack Gunko when she took Colon hostage. He had the opportunity to attack her before she could even reach Colon but he got dodged like nothing.

I am comparing that with Rayleigh saving Zoro literally in a Colon situation with an actual top-tier. Sure, Kizaru may not expect Rayleigh to appear, but it's not Kizaru wouldn't notice him before he appeared infront of him. He was hardly surprised when Rayleigh appeared before him.

Yeah I'm not really seeing the logic lol

It's not like Rayleigh blitzed Kizaru to save Zoro

Kizaru was completely focused on Zoro/the Strawhats and Rayleigh suddenly appears to save the day

With multiple speech bubbles emphasizing Kizaru being surprised at Rayleigh's appearance

Vs.

Gaban running at Gunko and speaking as she's staring in his direction

Quite literally night and day

I am not sure which part of Gaban allowed his son to become hostage on his watch while Rayleigh saved a Zoro who was already a hostage is hard to grasp.

Alright lol

I won't continue this discussion cause you clearly plan on being disingenuous but I'll say this

If you can't tell the difference between trying to attack someone that's prepared Vs. attacking someone that doesn't know you're there I really can't help you

Having his hands in the pockets somehow slows down an attack coming out of his leg?
It means his guard was lowered from being very relaxed (so he wasn't paying attention to his surroundings) while Gunko was expecting Gaban to attack her. I do think Ray is a bit stronger than Gaban because of the naming scheme (Gold > Silver > Copper) but I don't think that's a good argument.

Genuinely feel sad for Zoro bros they thought their boy will kill Kaido
Sanji does not even know what Kaido looks like.
I do not think the expectation that a character which is based on a canonized characters that is known to have slayed a dragon above the Wano capital would also be involved in the slaying of the main villain of the arc that is also a dragon.
From a story writing perspective its heaps and bounds better than "Nika fruit big fist goes BRRRRRRR".
I also always thought that ZKK was a possibility. In the end stale MC privilege won.

It's more about having only tiny room to save the hostage and still succeeding vs allowing a hostage situation to happen right before your eyes.

Rayleigh did not allow Kizaru to go after the SH's on his watch even when he was prepared:

That makes sense, but the point was that it hardly had an impact on the attack he's about to use on the hostage. He already initiated it before Rayleigh was anywhere near him, yet he managed to intercept it fast enough to save Zori who was at point blank range while Waban allowed himself to be dodged.

If you ask me which is harder b/w hitting Gunko through her guard vs intercepting Kizaru's attack at pointblank range, I'd say the later 10/10 times.

This is what I'm talking about. You just showed the reason why Rayleigh was able to interfere in the panel you posted

Yata no Kagami isn't instant. You can see Usopp and Brook reacting to the light as it's forming. Not to mention we see Apoo a pretimeskip Supernova react to it

Was Rayleigh supposed to stand there and watch?

Like I said, you're comparing apples to oranges
