Maybe if People stop looking at any Lightning Effects & just follow Narrative + Other Indicators, They would learn to Distinguish between them,
Every Adv. CoC Attack seen so far was Confirmed either with Sky Split or Technique Name or Statement or Specific No Touching Effect ... etc

I don't care about all that Lightning,
I'm not saying that it can't be used to point out an Adv. CoC Usage, but it's clearly not intended to be what Readers should base their Conclusions on,

Maybe he isn't since post Wano It wasn't that difficult to spot it. People are just making shit up to not give CoC to characters they don't like.

A different and much more serious problem Is about cases in which It should have been seen and wasn't.

So far ACoC is shown more to be a trail of lightning (more fluid) coming off of someone, often still emanating before or after the clash.

CoA is more on the point of impact (Page One vs Sanji, Jinbe vs WW, Ulti vs Usopp), and often a straight streak vs the more curved ACoC. ACoC also has this display though, like those sky split.

Oda is doing this on purpose to have people talking. It is an habit of his to let things ambiguous to spark controversies and arguments. Habit that, imo, in the end of the story his detrimental to the overall quality of the manga.

In any other shonen it is clear for the reader what power is used, there are no constant arguments about how the power works or what are its visual cues. Haki is one of the worst part of One Piece imo.

I do think he's like to not make it ambiguouss sometimes but I also believe the fandom is being obtuse.
We didn't need his vivre card to know Garp showed COC on Hachinosu despite no the lack of extra panels on fodders fainting.

Being ambiguous about most obvious stuff is what Loda excels at, it has worked out for him flawlessly the fandom go above and beyond to fill in gaps so he can sit back laugh troll. He doesn't have to explain shit

Most people care about what happens next in story , expect more lore reveal , more locations , more character development . Most people don't give a shit about how thick haki lightning is , so Oda does not give a fuck too.

Oda doesn't care that much about powerscaling. He does use it as a plot device. But he is not obsessive like us.

Also, there was that dragon balls editor who said oda is unapproachable for editors. So, I doubt any editor actually brought it up to him. They too busy crying over mononosuke.

People also forget Toriyama with DB, who was THE defining power scaling manga, just wrote shit too, the difference was he put it to numbers so the babies i guess could feel cool

It’s important for me to confirm wether Scopper used AdCoC or not because it’ll set the stage for Sanji to eventually get it.

Regardless of whether a weapon is hardened or not, I don't think CoC can be applied to a weapon without CoA.

I think Armament is always a component in its physical use, including defensively.
