Today i learned that Gaban 6 years ago was at his prime

Loki killed Demon Harald and his demon army 14 years ago (which is genuinely an insane feat considering Luffy called normal Harald strong just by looking at a photo, I'm putting everything into Loki stocks rn).

Gaban was still close enough to his prime at that point, he would've been in his sixties. If he could've stopped Loki, why didn't he?

For 8 years, Loki went completely untouched in Elbaf after killing the king. Now who knows if Gaban tried to fight the guy, but again, he is clearly a protector of Elbaf who is willing to fight for the country in his old age, so why didn't he do it in his prime? And better yet, how tf strong is current Shanks to be defeating Loki 6 years ago?

Now Gaban is directly admitting inferiority to Loki in his old age, which is fair enough, but does beg the question why he never stopped Loki in his prime. Perhaps Loki went into hiding for 8 years after the battle, who knows. It is strange, however, that Gaban can sense the HKs across the island now, but supposedly couldn't sense a 1 man war going on with Imu's haki everywhere 14 years ago?

Because oda wanted fake tension of Luffy dying. After Kaido heard this, he grew his army with smiles and weaponry. If Kaido got stronger, he would’ve said something about being strong enough to be a foe not even kozuki oden could defeat.

In those twenty years the only person Kaido fought was a brief clash with Shanks. Even Moriah fight took place before this
