Well, as I said, innocents might die too. I never said that the troupe was good or morally grey or anything like that, I just said that Hisoka is more evil. However, the Kurta Clan was feared by the nearby town at least, so they mostly certainly did bad things in the past (not just one member or two).

P.S.: About that translation, it says that "Chrollo took quite a liking to those eyes", but it's apparently innacurate. What he just says in japanese is that Chrollo "was interested", but without specifying anything (at least according to some post I saw on the internet a few years ago).

And about Hisoka... he doesn't necessarily just kill people who can fight back (actually, he's more merciful on those with potential... the weaker ones usually get the short end of the stick, good or evil).

Hisoka is way less evil than Chrollo. I think Hisoka's kink is fight against someone capable of killing him, risk his life to feel alive. Be victorious or not doesn't matter to him, he's more like a beast. Chrollo on the other hand is a cold minded killer that doesn't have any respect for other people life

Hisoka is capable of benevolent actions if this is necessary to make room for a fierce fight, that is, although he does not care about the positive faculty of the act, the possibility of doing good is not beyond him.

It is Chrollo's indifference that makes him an abysmally greater evil.

So pretty simple question. Hisoka is a serial killer pedophile who wants nothing more to kill people, but at the end of the day, his targets aren't your average citizen. Chrollo is a gang leader who genuinely cares about his gang and city, but does some horrible crimes, including obviously killing the entire Kurta clan and torturing them until their eyes are just right.

Hisoka. Chrollo has a goal and reason for killing. He doe feel sad whenever a comrade dies. Chrollo is more humane.

Hisoka is selfishly amoral. He's above good and evil, and only does what gives him pleasure.
Chrollo is selflessly immoral. He understands good and evil, and will perpetrate the same atrocities done against his people to others if it means saving his friends.
They're in two distinct categories.

Chrollo is a terrorist. Hisoka is a sadist. They are different kinds of evil

Chrollo kills with rationality, Hisoka is just chaotic and would kill for pleasure. Hisoka is literally a psychopatic serial killer, I’d rather take my chances encountering a mafia crime lord. They’ve done more harm in the real world than psychopatic serial killers too but the mentality is the difference. You can’t understand what goes through a psychopath‘s head unless you are one yourself. I’d say that Hisoka is more evil.

Chrollo is the God Father of HxH, Hisoka is a dangerous pervert but more erratic and less consistent than Chrollo.

Overall both of them would probably kill all of humanity if that served them somehow.
