There are Haki monsters that AREN'T top tier swordsman, which is literally all of them outside of Mihawk. They don't need a black blade like him or to equal his "skill" to win against him.

Yes Mihawk taught Zoro CoO. But the MAIN color that he focused on training Zoro on was Armanment. Hence why he has mastered Hardening and Ryou. Unlike Sanji and Luffy that started the timeskip with the basic mastery of hardening.
