Because King said you don't need a name or style to fight. That was the whole point to that conversation. It was Oda way of telling people you don't have to be called a swordsman or possess a sword style to be a swordsman.
Since some people have such a hard time understanding what a swordsman is, Oda had to spell it out.
So king doesn’t claim to be a swordsman and Zoro emphasizes that he doesn’t claim to be a swordsman some somehow = they both don’t know what they’re talking about
@GalaxyLevelShanks what the fuck is this crying about? Just because there is one panel in Xebec flashback that says he is a swordsman??
Any normal, healthy person would read this chapter and conclude that Xebec hype is his son, Teach's hype. Teach will achieve something that Xebec failed to do: overthrowing Imu.
But here on this site postponement fans and Shanks fans instead arguing about swordmanship smh.

Just stating facts.
Point of the chapter is Xebec's son build up. Why are Shanks fans crying and Mihawk fans celebrating while both of them totally irrelevant in the new chapter?

By feats, Shanks shits on Mihawk. Nothing changes in this chapter. Shanks one shotted 3B Kidd and made Greenshoes twerking while Mihawk relocated thanks to fodder Marines and becomes YC1 under Xebec's second son.
By Marineford, Mihawk and Vista became a meme while Red Hair Pirates stopped the whole war.

I'm surprised that no Shanks fan hasn't simply pivoted to claiming that his sword, Gryphon, wasn't just fed a Mythical Gryphon zoan devil fruit, and that he uses Gryphon as a duo proxy in real fights.
It's the simplest out from the swordsmanship conversation. His brother Shamrocks' sword ate the Cerberus fruit, and Oda loves his silly parallels lol.
And just like there's no way of proving that having black blade doesn't make you top 1, there's also no way of proving Shanks' sword doesn't have a DF in it because he's never had a serious on screen fight. The Kamusari on Kid was just a one shot after all.
Relax. Shanks character was never about being stronger. It were Mihawk fans who leeched on his power level simply because strength is Mihawk's only purpose. Shanks doesn't even care about it.
