Completely agree. A torpedo taking out their ship so easily and then the giant robot shark they didnt notice until it was too late (didnt even sense threats with haki from the M3, especially Luffy who has Future Sight too), Zoro stalling Lucci just because he wanted to mainly and also it going for 6 months IRL, Gaban humiliating Gear 5, post Kaido and Egghead/Gorosei Luffy, Sanji behaving like a complete dog, well puppy especially, Robin not helping Saul and damn near letting him die, the SHs still being mostly hakiless and barely improved to pre TS despite 2 years of "training". They had far more powerups and better growth pre TS. Oda ruined Ifrit Jambe and Hells Memories in one fell swoop and Asura is still a complete mystery and only has been used once IIRC, sigh.
The Zoro CoC thing is so fucking dumb, Oda is really flanderising and ruining his characters for the "lols". Jinbei is a complete joke since joining as fear and as you said, the SHs are just background characters, they just repeat their same gags and individual quirks, they are shallow, exaggerated parodies of themselves now.
Luffy and co sense overwhelming haki going across the island, extremely evil, all powerful haki and they just chilling as they listen to another Oden type story lmao.
Oda making a Yonko crew the underdogs is so fucking ridiculous but this is the same Oda who had Smoothie a yonko commander unable to get past a door in her own mothers territory too, also her unable to climb a waterfall and enter Wano successfully TWICE now and so on.
There was a post I saw recently on reddit on how Oda gave big moments/storylines to each SH in every arc pre TS and its so true more or less. WAY better than how he treats them now. I never thought Franky going to Vegapunks lab and then Vegapunk himself and his actual current base/main island much later and Zoro getting to spend 2 years with the WSS Mihawk himself could be handled so overwhelmingly disappointingly and such.
Nami gets an extremely cool new attack with Zeus, the shark one only for Gunko to immediately no sell it and send it back to her for a gag, also repeating the gag of Nami seeming to get electrocuted but it was only Brook who got shocked, from WCI or Wano or w/e?
I have to ignore the SHs and most logic at least otherwise I cannot enjoy these chapters at all and my own rage just blinds me, takes over. Never forget Jinbei vs boxes and him having to finish off Lucci in Zoros fight with him and also Lucci nearly killing Stussy when she tried to protect Vegapunk from him and Sanji just stood there and did nothing, despite Lucci almost killing and fatally injuring a (beautiful) woman in front of him.

But Damn Rocks really was the real deal. He is getting the lore we thought Kaido would get with that admiral defeat.

Agreed on the differences in their appeal, though I don't think Teach is as cautious as you think. Remember when Augur chided him for charging into the fight with Law only half-ready?
If anything I think Blackbeard leaves things to fate almost as much as Luffy does.
