I can see WB betraying him if it's an extreme situation, like Xebec putting the child slaves at extreme risk for the sake of his goals. Maybe it wouldn't even be a betrayal, but a shift in objectives, where WB would prioritize protecting the children over helping Xebec achieve his main objective.

Many of them, Kaido's speech about pirates made it seem like some of them betrayed him after they knew they would lose
Kaido stole the fruit and left etc.
In this chapter they also said a crew like this would implode at some point, they clearly aren't loyal, their loyality was kept by a single thread, a goal and that's about it

A lot of them aren't trust worthy and worst of all they wanted the treasures for themselves. With a crew this powerful, it makes no sense that they lose. I think they dominated the battle field at one point, then got cocky and started fighting each other to get higher spoils.
They also said something like God Valley was their final battle, Big Mom doesn't seems to believe on Rocks plan, maybe the crew is at the brink of collapse, this battle will decide who gain the upper hand when they left the crew.
Whitebeard has no scars on his back, if anything he should be the last person to leave God Valley of the entire crew.
