1. chase Luffy;

So what if he hasn't played a role yet post time skip. Coby went the full pre-ts doing nothing. He went through an arc throwing hands with everyone even if they were stronger than him a quality a lot of the marines don't have. He's still to play his role and with Kuzan becoming a pirate it's obvious Oda is setting up a confrontation between the two seeing as since pre timeskip the two have had history.

Unless of course you think Smoker appearing to go somewhere recently in the manga will lead to nothing then it's hard to argue he's not going to be relevant again.

Smoker and Luffy are still to settle the score and the stronger Luffy gets the more upscale Smoker will get.

True, but again, honesty impact worked very well in the situation he was in, a a big dumb idiot giant character was attacking him, Koby took his time to do the attack, blew up the hand and got Helmepo to keep him up afterwards. Beating Vergo is not so easy. Vergo is not only fast, for characters of their level, he hits like a tank. If in a short confrontation, Vergo can easily break Sanji´s leg, he will deal significant damage to Koby, who has been shown getting injuries from fighting Kuja fodder and pirate island fodder.

(Keep in mind, He wasn´t shown fighting Hancocks main sisters, or any notable BBP commanders, so we can assume that he got injuries from random fodder. I won´t hold pre ts feats against Koby, but I do think it´s a little notable that he got one shot by Luffy at MF, Vergo will at the very least give him the fight of his life).

He had seraphim and failed to accomplish absolutely anything against Hancock or even any notable crew members. That is obviously objectively pathetic, and probably worse then an injured smoker almost dying to Doffy.

Tashigi isn’t an official member of SWORD but she’ll definitely join them after the rescue from Pirate Island. She didn’t do much but it was the most action she’s gotten since she was humiliated at Punk Hazard.

As for Smoker, I think he works solo now but may intersect with SWORD on a future mission. I’d love to see him come into conflict with Kuzan.
