Prime Moriah was definitely a monster but just like Crocodile, his pride and willpower got broken by an emperor. I guess that's why Crocodile was this weak in Alabasta. After he was beaten by Luffy, he started believing again and that's how he got stronger again. I'm sure Oda will use this reason to make both Moriah and Crocodile reach their peak again in the final saga. Well, Crocodile has already done so while Moriah has yet to grow stronger as well.

Also, I really like the interactions between Harald and Xebec - they are enemies but they can't help to be friends. Oda is really good at fleshing out Harald as a character being morally grey - same with Xebec.
I also have a vague idea why Teach turned out to be this mistrusting over his allies and keeps betraying and throwing them away like nothing. When the news happened that Burgess got wasted by Sabo, Teach didn't give a fuck. But now, I think BB does it because he still holds a grudge to those who betrayed his father.
While I believe Blackbeard betrayed Whitebeard for his own personal gains, he also did it out of revenge because he thought WB was one of those betraying his father. That would be a plottwist I can see now.
By the way, as much as I like Kuzan, Blackbeard DEFINITELY knows Kuzan might be a spy in the crew. He's not that stupid. He's an archaeologist after all, so Blackbeard is pretty smart. Maybe Blackbeard already schemes some stuff against Kuzan. Heck, I wouldn't exclude the possibility of Blackbeard betraying his whole crew to gain ultimate power - ultimately doing the Griffith move.
This is a stark contrast to Xebec being betrayed by his crew and Blackbeard would be the one betraying his crew instead. Oda loves parallels like that.
oda really tried to make xebec be like evil in the past but in the end guy didnt do a lot onscreen tbh

I am sorry, we need to be fair here.
Blackbeard is legit terrorizing the new world, with all these fiends like Devon with a objectively rapey and disturbing vibe. All the low schemes, all the backstabbing, all the cheapshots and being very selective in picking his fights.
He does all of this while naming his ship after Xebec.
We knew for a long time that there isnt just a connection but that he is somehow trying make Rocks live on through his actions.
We could never have expected that the piece of shit that is Blackbeard is following someone with actual morals, who values allies and hates traitors. Someone who is an actual warrior. And I doubt that Rocks had a tolerance for people like Devon.
All things that BB is absolutely fucking not.
So no, this isnt just the WG or Sengoku but BB actually shitting on the legacy of Rocks.

And to me, it raises the question of how the fuck that happens. Something or someone may have brainwashed BB or completely mishandled everything he knows. And personally, I am betting on Lafitte.

Oda cooked so hard with Rocks that I doubt the hyped Joyboy will be able to surpass him, but let's see.
I also love how both Rocks and Roger have unique characteristics that make them completely different from Luffy/BB. I even think Rocks is more similar to Kid than BB at this point.
