Future Events Purpose of the Flashback

#1
A flashback is introduced to give context to the present situation and to give some hint about what is to come or needs to happen. I havent gone back and checked but in almost all flashbacks the story is not told just from the point of the story teller because more info needs to be given which the story teller should not have first hand information about. Now we are getting this flashback from the story teller who is Loki but we are getting info that Loki should not have information about like the Kuja pirates and what happened on Beehive etc.

The main purpose is to provide context to the situation in the flashback for which extra information is provided within the flashback and then connect it to the present situation in the story. The main theme of the arc is the WG being pushed to recruit Elbaf as an ally nation for their military might using any means necessary. The conflict is shown in the flashback where Rocks wants Harald and Elbaf to ally with him while Harald is trying to make Elbaf a genuine nation globally and change the reputation of Elbaf.

In present time the nation of Elbaf is on the brink of being taken over by WG in the form of Gunkmu, Killingham and Sommers having turned the giant pirates and giants to their side and unleashing nightmares and having taken the children as hostages (I dont remember if they were saved). Will WG manage to subjugate Elbaf or will Elbaf be saved and join the SHPs as the allied nation? They have the hero whom they have waited for now among them.

We are getting some nice mystery reveals about Rocks and birth of BB and Shanks and possibly what happened in GV. This is the third time that GV has been referenced in the story, first it was in Oden flashback and then in Kuma flashback and now in Loki flashback.

What we are going to get is the power or threat of current villains (Gunkmu/Imu), the devil fruits (or maybe just Lokis and the other will be revealed later), more Shanks and BB buildup and more Figarland family/Garling buildup.

This Saga is basically Endgame Version of Water 7 Saga (Holy Knights instead of CP-9),
That's why it has Two Flashbacks, One for Kuma (Similar to Franky's Flashback, you can even notice that Kuma's Group on Egghead is similar to Tom's Workers), and Second Flashback focusing on God Valley Incident (Similar to Ohara Flashback),

So I have Two Expectations from this:

1. It means this Flashback is actually Shanks Flashback (He is God Valley Survivor)
2. It means God Valley Battle Royale will Repeat itself (Similar to how Buster Call happened again in Enies Lobby)

In God Valley, We had Five Sides (Similar to Arabasta Arc), We had Roger, Garp, Xebec, Harald & Garling,
So this Flashback is Preparing us for Ultimate Battle Royale (Oda did Confirm this Saga is a Battle Royale) between Five who Replaced them:

Shanks (Instead of Roger)
Blackbeard (Instead of Xebec)
Dragon (Instead of Garp)
Loki (Instead of Harald)
Shamrock (Instead of Garling)

Who is the narrator of the extra bits in every flashback? Someone from the future? I'm guessing Nico Robin's pupil, it could also be an immortal of some sort, but anyway it implies that the WG does not longer exist by EOS and history can be studied, but also there are information that shouldn't be obtained thus the inmortal being theory

I think its just the story narrator that fills in to maintain story flow

If it shows God Valley itself, which it should, this flashback is the sendoff for the old gen, the last goodbye as they fall into irrelevancy and their sons/successors take over. It builds up towards 3 characters - The successor of Rocks, the successor of Harald and the successor of Garling.
Yeah it was your thread that made me think about the flashback purpose (minus the power scaling part).
