I lost my shit at that, laughed so hard.

The humour has been really good this season surprisingly. This season so far seems a lot better, but the 2nd half of season 1 went completely stupid, ridiculous, extra super mega cliché and thus formulaic plot and ruined the story immensely. So far season 2 seems way better but I'm scared the 2nd half is gonna fuck up hard again and spoil all the goodwill. (Ironically the plot heavily revolves around a "Goody Addams" amongst other things too).

Garling is one of the guys in the race for One Piece separate from Imu based on the spread, implying his goals doesn't necessarily align with what Imu wants. It is believed that he wants Imu's spot and is more extreme.

Your idea is possible too. Imu personally promoted Garling to replace Saturn, and the other Gorosei don't seem happy with it. Wouldn't be surprised if Garling gives rapid results and Imu makes him the head of the Gorosei.
