They visit Zoro's ancestral homeland... no details about his family are given. Only barely acknowledged in an SBS just so the story can focus on pothead Oden.

Nami hasn't drawn or bought a chart since East Blue in the manga and since Brook joined the crew in the anime.


But let's waste a dozen chapters on seeing Oden slice a boar in half and dancing naked in the streets instead! Clearly that's what the people want to see!

Wano was a mixed bag with the side characters admittedly but Egghead’s reception has been absurdly positive

And the current flashback is the best most people have felt about One Piece in years

I’d say the side characters are what makes One Piece great tbh (part of it anyway)

It is true oda has side lined SHs minus Luffy in post skip.

Though for side characters I will say it depends on quality. Rocks and rocks pirates are 10/10. Scabbards were 1/10.
