Character Discussion Wasn't Xebec supposed to be evil or something?

Was xebec being evil just propaganda? Or is xebec gonna end up being evil
Yeah ! That's a very cool narrative trick that Oda fooled us with. He introduced Xebec with - mainly - bad guyz contextually fighting against Roger (who we already knew was a good guy) and at the same time through fear from the marines. This created a triple prejudice effect against the character which was reaffirmed through our theories around blackbeard. We basically fuelled this process ourselves.

Just good ol' government propaganda.

You can do mental gymnastics to try and make Xebec seem like a bad guy, but in reality he didn't do anything more evil than the SH crew or the average pirate crew.

He beat up Loki? I'd say he just gave him a good lesson, Xebec humbled him while he was still young, Loki's overconfidence would probably lead him to death if he didn't get that lesson.

Dude fought momo a bunch of times during punk hazard 😂
The Straw Hats also have no problem with stealing from confirmed innocent people and allying with questionable folks like Kid.
Post automatically merged:

  • Doesn't care about allying himself with a bunch of lowlifes, thieves, backstabbers and murderers;
  • Most of his crew probably joined him by force (Davy Back Fight, and it can basically end a crew);
  • Severely beats a child (Loki) just for challenging him;
  • Commited hundreds of crimes, including sinking ships, destroying towns, burning ports, etc.

Xebec's definitely a villain, even if he has a few redeeming qualities.
Heavy disagree, let's assume that Xebec randomly gets drunk with power, he'd still make the world infinitely better than what Imu is trying to make of it.

I mean no matter how you see it.
He ain't a good guy.

Killing Innocents, Raiding islands, DESTROYING cities, Terrorist activities.

Now just because he cared for his family at the end of his career doesn't make him a good guy.

When did he kill innocents you sound like you got infleuenced by the world government corrupt accusations lol
Why are people now arguing that the narrator is a world government agent now? Unless you think next week the narrator will try telling us that what happened at God Valley doesn´t matter given the celestial dragons created the world or something.

The readers of the story aren´t really exposed to what government propaganda is generally, since we follow from the perspective of pirates, and we usually only see government agents talking with eachother, as opposed to the general public. Even Sengoku wasn´t ever spreading propaganda, since the government propaganda is that Rocks never even *existed*.

That island wasn´t being included, since it wasn´t wiped from a map. He destroyed several towns in different instances.
And all were prolly evil towns

He has the most generic evil goal in fictional history, I have no idea what the argument is here.
he wanted to free the world from the evil wg

He was a good dude :josad:
