Do you think it's possible that Luffy will fight Blackbeard, and Imu will not be the final villain for the race for the one piece, but that instead of Luffy or Blackbeard or anybody ( from the normal characters ) else fighting and defeating Imu, Nika may appear, his appearing specifically was talked about by Jarul and the giants, and be the one who fights Imu?

Well, technically it COULD happen. Luffy can seemingly pull anything he wants out of his head while in Gear 5. So, it's not impossible that Luffy could literally pull Nika or Joyboy out of his head to team up with all of them.

But, I doubt that's the way it's going to happen. I don't feel like Oda will go that way with it. If only because Luffy really doesn't care about history. So, I doubt he'd even know enough about Nika or Joyboy to even imagine what they'd look like.

He'd be more likely to create a dream-version of Ace to fight alongside him and Sabo. But, then we'd have to watch Ace "die" a second time. So, I'm not sure if Oda would actually do that. Or if he definitely would, for the feels.

But...I do think it's possible that Luffy could at least "speak" to Nika in his mind, via a "awakened" form of the Voice of All Things. Talking to the mind in his own Devil Fruit. That may be how we get the Ancient Kingdom flashback. Even that may be unlikely, since it would feel pretty similar to Naruto talking to his mom and dad.

I don't know. There are ways Oda could play with the idea a little. But, I just have a feeling that Nika and Joyboy are most likely just going to stay in the flashbacks.

That chapter kinda confirmed that Teach and Luffy will join forces instead

Not sure I get the concept lol, Luffy is both Joyboy and Nika throughout the ages. He'll fight both enemies eventually, thats the point of the series.
The concept is that Nika is an actual deity that exists, and shows up to fight Imu

Zunesha thought Luffy was Joyboy because she or he heard the drums of liberation, but Emeth thought Joyboy was there too when he heard them, but when he met Luffy, he confirmed Luffy isn't Joyboy, Gear 5 just looks like Joyboy's transformation

This would parallel Luffy vs Kaido

The alliance on their own failed, and Luffy died, if Nika powers didn't show up, Kaido would have won

Kaido's fruit has some Satan parallels, and a panel of Gear 5 Luffy vs Kaido mirrors a painting of God defeating Leviathan

Nika has lots of Jesus parallels, and Imu has lots of Satan parallels

Just like the raid would have failed if Nika powers didn't show up, whatever will happen to fight against Imu will fail, if Nika doesn't show up

Nika powers saved the raid, and then put that on a bigger scale, Nika will save the final war

And I mean, I don't like how Rocks being domi reversied feels, I'm just saying what I think may happen, same with Nika being Jesus Christ in-universe
Nothing from the latest few chapters lends any new credence to the possibility of Nika appearing in the near future as an entity separate from Luffy and his DF.

I still dont think Nika is separating from Luffy. He is Nika via his powers. Thats the point. Luffy is just fighting everyone

I think Imu taking attacks from Rocks, Roger, Whitebeard, Garp, Big Mom, and Kaido, with seemingly at most little effort, points to nobody but a Nika appearence being able to beat him, especially since Joyboy's haki did what it did

Joyboy's haki didn't push back on Imu, it negged his powers

I was talking about this before but now I can say it confidently

Joyboy top 1, Joyboy neg diffs Imu, Imu top 2, Imu neg diffs anyone else

The "most" I honestly expect is that Gear 5 is only the Awakened Hybrid, Luffy isnt "fully" Nika here because he still has his personality. I have a feeling by the EoS, Gear 6 or 0 will exist and it will be the DF taking over Luffy as a fully Awakened Zoan.

Im not sure if this aligns with your views @Blax Blah but maybe thats what Oda intends?

Interesting, how so?

@moreha9685 @Logiko @MonsterKaido what do you think btw?
Luffy's fruit will be negated by Blackbeard, but to go as far as saying that Nika will pop up out of Luffy, nah. It wouldn't really make sense with what we know of Devil fruit at the moment. It could change of course, but for the moment, the "will" is the only real "entity" behind a devil fruit, I don't think it's enough to manifest in itself.
