Okay, so I want to discuss Ragnir, but I'm going to say to take this with a grain of salt.

1. Inanimate objects that "eat" devil fruits have limited intelligence. They can't speak well.
- Smiley was a mass of gas that was fed a devil fruit and it spoke, but not in a human voice (?)

2. Homies actually do have intelligence. Nash, the homie shield in Elbaf, communicated intelligently. It used human language. As do Zeus, and most of the other homies.
